There are two issues - both I can live with, but they are still issues.
1. Players who have invested in full 7* rosters, rather than lean R7 rosters. They deliberately spent on character shards rather than gear, and now that the shards are cheaper, while the gear isn't, they are being penalized for this strategy. R7 rosters can catch up to 7* everything, while we cannot get more gear to bring our toons to R7.
Perhaps a solution to this would be that players who already have 90% of all toons at 7* could get a discount on Relic or G12 gear+ somehow, to even this out. I doubt that will happen, but it would still be nice to see some rewards for players who play wide rather than narrow.
2. The full character lottery win from Bronzium packs. This was the only thing that was really worthwhile and "fun" with the Bronzium packs. Sure, a few random single shards brings some SSC, but when you hit an 80, it was jackpot. Now that jackpot is still only 80, while everything costs twice as much. That's a nerf.
Perhaps simply doubling those full drops as well would solve this. There is no good reason for them not doing this.
1. I don't really see this one as much of an issue. This game is getting old enough that a catchup mechanic of some kind was badly needed. New players aren't going to play this game if it takes 3 years or $10,000 to reach the newer content. This is a step towards easing that.
As far as hear vs shards go, if you read the post about this update, it sounds like they plan on addressing gear too but are doing one at a time. Hopefully they actually mean that.
2. The bronizum nerf does need addressed. Hopefully they will address it.
