⏳ Lifepath
Unlike Lifestyles (which track current actions), Lifepaths would be a permanent "Social DNA" forged by the environment a sim grows up in.
Similar to Character Values, from Teen to Young Adult, the game would define the Lifepath based on three factors :
- World Type (3 entries): Urban (Street kid), Suburban, or Rural (Countryside kid)
- Financial Status (3 entries): Struggling (Rags), Comfortable, or Affluent (Riches).
- Home (5 entries): Lot Size (From Tiny Home to 64x64) or Dynamic (Nomad).
World Type and Financial Status (at day 1) would define 9 Lifepath and Home would define 5 Location Preferences (For example a sim who grew up in 64x64 lot will feel claustrophobic in a Tiny Home). This system includes a primary and secondary lifepath as the origin and the direction choice.
In CAS instead of selecting the lifepath, the players could set these 3 factors (World of Origin, Childhood Financial Status and Childhood Home)
Rags-to-Riches would feel different, as New Money these sims will remember that they started with nothing.
In addition to Lifepath, I would add :
- Traits :
- Traditionalist Trait: Refuse to leave the origin. Stuck in the primary Lifepath (Born and died as a Street Kid)
- Shape-Shifter Trait: Need to change, ability to adapt quickly. Born as a Nomad but became a Corpo.
- Lifepath perks/skills
- Evolution Reward Traits : Capturing the progression. For example Rags-To-Riches proves the ability to succeed financially but the opposite is a financial disaster. Evolving from Street kid to Countryside shows the desire to escape the city, evolving from Countryside to Nomad shows the desire of freedom and exploration.
- Nomad Careers : Giving a valid reason to move out. Triggering Nomad lifepath. For example Circus career.
The idea is :
- Use the environment as a memory of the origin
- Create a specific dynamic between sims. For example new social interactions between Old Money sim and "Rags-to-Riches" sim.
- Define different ways to see the world : For example Street kid is more aware about fashion and trends than Countryside kid who is more aware about local traditions and local food.
