I think EA could make this a simple lucrative, process by just adding MORE free DLC to the base with each new update and EP, Pack ,Kit release. Simmers might want to spend more if they are getting more free options in the base. Another example is the Cheerleading Rug. Turn this into a Gymnastics Rug.
I'm also for updating animations if that's possible in the game. Ice Skating animations could be updated for Ballet with a new rug. Boxing animations could be update so that you can box with another sim...All of these activities could be added to the base game Athletic Career for free.
The DLC should be connected to DLC that we already have example: an industrial oven to add to the conventual home oven that we have in the base. It would be nice to have new animations attached to DLC like the oven.
This kind of DLC adds to what we already have in the game along with expanding creative gameplay with storytelling and building. Most of it should be free if they use existing items(DLC) to expand on a new version of that DLC(ovens and refrigeration can always be flipped for free.)
