Deleted Electronic Arts Folder

Okay so I just recently decided to get back into the Sims 4. I play on a macbook air and I didn’t have enough storage so I decided to get an external hard drive and run the game from there but then I made a horrible mistake. In the process of getting the game to the external drive I deleted my original electronic arts folder from the internal drive. I managed to download the game perfectly and everything to the external drive but I want to play with cc and mods and I can’t because my external drive doesn’t contain a electronic arts folder so that means I can’t put the mods anywhere. Also I’ve already tried going into my recycling bin for it and everything and I even downloaded a recovery app to get it back and that didn’t work either. I don’t know of any other way to get it back or if I can just make a whole new one. Someone please help I’m begging! I also included a photo of what my external drive looks like to show how there’s no electronic arts folder.

Well, typically on a macbook the electronic arts folder is found in the documents tab when you open finder. If you've deleted that then you will need to delete and reinstall both the EA app and the Sims 4 game as there will be no other way to recover that if you've fully deleted it.

Also i'm like 90% sure if you've already installed mods they wouldn't be gone just because of that.

This is categorically NOT true. There is absolutely no need to uninstall and reinstall EA App and The Sims 4. When you launch the game it looks in Documents for an Electronic Arts folder containing The Sims 4 folder to load your user data. If there is no folder there it simply creates one. Rose7215 please do not waste your time uninstalling and reinstalling EA App and the game.

Mods are installed in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. If the OP trashed that folder then the Mods are gone.

Ok so do I pretty much follow these steps from the website of moving the electronic arts folder to the external drive even if I don’t have an electronic arts folder at all:

Step 2 - Creating the symlink for the Electronic Arts folder:

    1. Copy the following command into your Word/ Text document:
      In-s /Volumes/USB/Electronic) Arts ~/Documents/
replacing USB with your external drive name and paying attention to the forward and back slashes and spaces. If we use the same example as before with the EXTERNAL DRIVE > Game User Data file paths and names this would be the result:
      In-s /Volumes/EXTERNAL\ DRIVE/Game\ User\
Data/Electronic\ Arts ~/Documents/ and with the black X denoting the spaces:
      InX-
      sX/Volumes/EXTERNAL\XDRIVE/Game|XUser|XD:
    2. Once you are happy with the command, open Terminal and copy and paste it from the
Word/Text document into the Terminal window so it looks like this but with your own information. If it is highlighted black just press the right arrow on your keyboard to move the cursor to the end of the line

And yeah since I installed the game to my external drive and deleted the electronic arts folder I’m assuming it won’t just show up again

Also to add on I’m wondering if it isn’t showing up becuase I decided to download it to my external drive which technically doesn’t contain a documents folder. If the solution is redownloading it to my internal drive then I might just give up

You can't create a symlink to a folder that doesn't exist. You need to launch the game first so a new Electronic Arts folder is created in Documents. Then move that folder to the external drive, then create the symlink.

Or, you could simply create a folder called Electronic Arts on your external drive and then create the symlink to it without launching the game first. But it must be Electronic Arts with a capital E and capital A.
