The entire free rewards thing is honestly one of the stupidest, if not, the stupidest thing The Sims team has ever implemented into The Sims 4. Not only can you not opt out of this crap, but it also doesn't even work properly. Also, what even was the point of the game trying to get me to claim the rewards back in June when I literally have all of them, despite me not claiming the Daily Rewards thing back in June? Shoving prompts in my face is literally the biggest backlash of this rewards event. Every time I launch The Sims 4, I get full screen prompts, so I'm always spamming the ESC key just to bypass this, as if I was trying to enter the BIOS on a computer. This is a prime example that makes dealing with The Sims 4 pure torture and frustration, just sayin'. 😞
I also don't want to play this rewards thing since it doesn't even work! It takes up so much space and makes my game even more buggy - mods disabled and trying a new, clean save included.

@puzzlezaddict wrote:@mightyspritesimsand @Spyderbaby I don't think you can turn it off on a per-save basis, but try taking the EA App offline before launching the game. Alternately, I saw a comment that disabling Online Social Features (Options > Game Options > Other) blocks the quest, so you could toggle this setting when you don't want to deal with it.
I wish it was that easy. I just did an update to my Sims game and was met with this behemoth... Got me hopeful.
Turned off social, closed out the EA app, turned off the tutorials as well.
NOPE, still there. Extra aggravating that you cannot set it up like you would a calendar--to get rid of the game's dumb events and have your own.
I question why did I ever start playing this. Should have listened to my sister, and bought TS3 on steam. - TheChiefGnome1 year agoSeasoned Newcomer@ChelleBelle716 AMEN. All of this.
@TheChiefGnome Please try the suggestion here:

A new save may not be necessary.
- fOOOxii1 year agoSeasoned Rookie@puzzlezaddict Thanks, it worked perfectly for me 👍, it's a shame that the online library doesn't work but at least it gets rid of that ANNOYANCE. It was irritating me 🤬

How can I turn it off? I'm not at all interested in the rewards or the challenges. It's sitting in the corner of my screen ruining my gameplay. Will it go away eventually or am I just stuck with it? Even if this one goes away will I be able to remove the next one?! I thought it would maybe be like the discovery quests that you can opt in or out of, which I already have turned off. PLEASE LET ME TURN IT OFF! I'm so confused as to why they made this a in game situation. Everyone plays this game very differently and this is making me want to stop playing. I've checked all the settings and tried multiple saves and there's nothing you can do. I'm more than annoyed by it, I see a lot of people in the sims community are also wanting to remove this. Stop forcing this kind of thing down our throat. I'll be here searching the internet until this problem has been resolved or until someone makes a mod to remove it all together.
You know and I might as well throw in that Vivaland looks better and better everyday...... - keekee531 year agoSeasoned Ace
I just do not understand why they would not include an opt out button. This is ridiculous. I have not tried the to puzzle's suggestion. I have been so annoyed with the whole event that I have been playing something else.

I want to share my experience so far with me redoing some past projects. This rewards thing actually hasn't been a very major issue for me, except for the fact that those icons in the top left corner are just...there. And then there's those times after I take selfies when the 'Call Away' prompt just opens itself. Also, when the Newsletter (whatever the full name of it was) would arrive, I basically immediately threw it into the trash and selling it doesn't get you any Simoleons. Nonetheless, at least for me, this didn't cause major disruptions to my project redos.
Not gonna lie, I actually had this same frustration back in June with the Happy at Home Rewards thing because it was always in my face when I just wanted to play the game as is and having these pop-ups to claim rewards I don't want or care about is a headache. I remember being so raged about these pop-ups that I had decided to ask if there was anyway to disable these, but had no luck.
If anyone wants to read that post I made, here's the link:
They really should just stick with SDX updates for free stuff, because you can at least opt out of this if you don't want this. But with rewards events and/or daily rewards, you're pretty much out of luck, unless you do some kind of tough workaround or something.
MotherEarth25 Open Options > Game Options > Other, and disable Online Social Features. Quit the game and delete accountDataDB.package, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. (This file contains data from your interim progress on the tasks but not the rewards you've earned.) When you reload the game, the Reaper icon and everything else that comes with the event should be gone.
