Mac - Internet is connected, but Gallery and Grim Rewards telling me to connect

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Sept 18th Update, I can't find where to get the version number on my Mac. "About Sims" is completely blank when I open it.
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions, game packs, stuff packs, and kits including the two newest ones for the Nursery and Artists
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Mac - Sequoyah Try to claim Reaper Rewards, get message to be connected to the internet. I AM connected to the internet via WiFi and have tried both available WiFi networks and my phone hotspot and run into the same "Connect to the internet" type messages when I try to claim.
What happens when the bug occurs? I am connected to the internet on WiFi and have also tried it on my hotspot internet. Don't have a way to hard wire the internet into my laptop. I'm trying to claim my Grim Rewards but keep getting the "you need to connect to the internet" message every time I try it. I attempted to open the gallery and connect that way, but it's not connecting,
What do you expect to see? I expected to be able to claim my rewards. I also got a 111 error when I tried to load my game after completing some of the tasks previously, but was able to open it up after opening a previous save.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I have tried different internet connections including a backup WiFi and my phone's hotspot.

I have made sure that Sims 4 has all of the needed permissions.

I'd previously gotten the 0000000008 delivery error and finally uninstalled all of my mods (I don't use CC) and using my hotspot, I was able to get the delivery to happen so I started seeing the Grim Reaper Rewards since I wasn't until that point.

I tried the same thing and same internet when I had the connection message develop and then my save wouldn't load back in.

My mods folder is empty.

    Hi @drbatcat1216,

Just to check, were the steps you followed the ones listed below, or a different set?

Troubleshoot your connection to EA games

The link above would be a solid place to start in the event of any connection issues.

It may also help to try repairing your game or verifying the files if you're launching through Steam. If you're running The Sims through the EA app instead, I'd also try clearing the cache to make sure the game isn't missing any recent updates.

Hey @drbatcat1216 , have you tried a different internet connection if possible (for example using your mobile data instead of your WiFi)? Do you have any antivirus on your Mac? Have you done any macOS updates recently, or installed any third party software?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I'm following your advice after the latest update. I deleted the file you suggested , it removed the entire event and the rewards I previously earned. I was able to get them back after putting back the file I deleted but I still can’t claim rewards. I have the social features enabled in my settings too
