  • S042018  Are you absolutely sure the sims & lots you've created are gone?  The reason I ask is because you are new to The Sims 4, no offense intended.  One of the things that new players do is creating new saves every time they start the game rather than using Resume or Load to keep playing the same sims as last time.  The end result of doing this is that everything you did before has disappeared rather than being all together in one save.

So, the next time you start the game, take a look in the Load Menu to see if your sims are still there.  If they are and you want them in the same save, just save them to your Library and add them to the save you want to play.  If you need any help doing that, then come back and we can go from there.

    Hope this helps.

CGrant56  No offense taken. I always use Resume Game, but not Load Game. When I hit Resume game the issues I raised above are still an issue. And when I just hit the Load Game feature, the sims I know I created aren't all there and neither are the homes (and trust me I save every game). I've just went through every saved game and again some sims are there and some are not in each save. I've checked in each world. I am a person that knows where I place sims and homes for a particular reason.

So in order for any homes I build to stay put, I have to hit load game everytime I play? I cannot use Resume game? Because again when hitting that, everything is gone when I shut down and load again. And Load game doesn't seem like it will save everything either.

So, from what you said, it sounds like a saving issue.  I'm channeling Capt. Obvious here but make sure you actually save before you quit.  I can't count the times that I've hit exit before saving.  One thing I recommend is to use either the Save or Save As button when in live mode rather than using the "Save and Go To (Main Menu/Manage Household) " or Save and Exit buttons.  Also, many players also recommend to only save in live mode on a lot, not at the world screen, at the map screen, in build mode, or in CAS, particularly if you use mods.  You can begin by running a repair from the EA App.  Just use the manage button that is next to the play on the play screen and select repair from the dropdown.  Once done, rename the "The Sims 4" folder so you can create a new user folder when you start the game next.  Then start the game, create a new game and create and place the sim.  Play a while if you want to then save and quit.  Since this issue seems to take hours to show up, go ahead and play a while to test if it still happens.  If it doesn't happen again, you're good to go.  If it does, then your only recourse is to do a full uninstall/reinstall.  If you want to play the saves in the old user folder, just copy the saves folder over to the new folder.  If you are asked to overwrite any files, choose to save both copies.  You'll have to rename those with the duplicate file names probably.

    Hope this helps.
