I can't really see a need for you to fiddle around you know that the head is directly below the green so simply click there. Frankly I hardly notice it as it is rare that I have to go into the Simology panel. Apart from When a Sim gained a star and clicking on the green star works every time.
That's good but I'm playing kids and teens with traits and have more info there I like to check on, and when you're used to an icon and it changes your brain looks for the original out of habit.
- Kathykins6 years agoSeasoned AceAlmost everything my sim do gives influence and will make the checkmark show on the simology panel. When hovering over the family funds, you can see how much influence your sim/s have. There is no place in the simology panel that shows the amount of influence. Its confusing and draws my attention to something that isn't there.
A checkmark on something makes me think I need to click there to check on something. And there is nothing in that panel that changes when doing actions that give influence. To me, its a pointless "notification". Maybe it bothers me more than it should, but that's how it is. I know where to find the simology icon when I actually need to look for something. That's not the problem, but the tiny little checkmark covering said icon, is. I'm not sure I can explain it any better, English isn't my native tounge.
I'm glad people are not bothered by it, really. Usually when I AM bothered by something, I'd find a mod to remove the annoyance. I just don't think there is one for this specific issue. Kathykins thank you so much!! You worded that PERFECTLY, so much better than me and you hit the nail on the head. Changing the icon feels like an alert you need to check something, and because it doesn't go away until opened it causes massive amounts of confusion for no reason on a per sim basis. My sims are ALWAYS doing something that gathers influence, whether it's having friends over, gardening, creative work, or what ever they are racking the points up, and they have a little icon already that tells me they're racking points up so why do I need a checkbox too? I can't stand that it keeps popping up. It's making me ignore that whole set of icons and I'm missing real notifications because I'm developing that blind spot (just like people do for websites because of ad placement).
