Sim's inventory disappears every time I leave the lot

Before I begin to say anything about this, I have researched what is happening, and many people I have seen are having similar issues. It is NOT a CC related bug, which EA support tends to blame their own issues on. My Sims' inventory deletes itself every time I load into a game, leave the lot, or interact with anything other than that specific item. For example, my sim has written many books, none of which I was able to publish because they disappear as soon as I'm done writing. Another example, my teenager's homework books disappear every time I leave the book in his inventory. Yet another example, the leftovers in the fridge disappear every time my sim leaves the lot, even though I know I made enough for multiple days.

    Hi Clowoo0527​

    Try the following

    • Close the game
      - Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
      Repair the game
      - Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry.
      - Close the game
      - Copy the save game with the error from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old\Saves to the new Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
      - Start your save game
      - Check if you still have the error and if you do, try the double load again.
      - Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

     

    Please also provide any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 you get.

    - Delete the ones you have
    - Trigger the error again
    - Check if new ones are created
    - If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.


    *Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.*
