Sims not eating

I recently encountered this bug last week, and when I opened my game again today, the problem was not resolved. This could be due to all the recent updates, but I haven't seen anyone else mention it. When I click on a food dish, the action is queued up, but the Sim freezes and resets as if they were reset by cheats. It's as if the game receives the order but cannot carry it out. I only have visual mods (loading screen and cas background), nothing that would affect gameplay. Please help, my Sims are starving!

I tried all of this, and I think I figured out the problem. I believe the food I was trying to serve was glitched. When I tried having my Sims eat something else, they were able to complete the action. It had nothing to do with my visual mods, not sure why this happened, but it seems to be working now.

Please follow these steps to test your game on vanilla game with no mods/cc

Create a backup of your save game
- Move your mods folder to the desktop
- Delete the following files from your user folder.
- localthumbcache
- Any lastException Files
- Any LastCrash files.
- Test on the backup of your save as you will loose all cc on the save and see if the same error occurs, then report back.

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.

Also: do you have the secret spice perk ?

I have the same problem, it's frustrating and inconvenient (can't vote somehow)

Julerra you can't vote as the report is missing vital information and the OP is using mods that need removing even though they seem to be only visual ones.

There's also a known issue with the secret spice perk that has it's own thread so if you could provide more inf as asked, that would be helpful.

I figured it out—it only happens with flawless dishes (I'm not sure how it sounds in the original, since I'm playing in Russian—basically, it's the highest quality of dish), even if the secret spice wasn't applied at that dish. Any lower-quality dish is fine.
