My sim has a music aspiration and one of the tasks is to write 4 songs. When I tell her to write one, she does it, but the bar doesn't load and she does it forever so I can't complete the aspiration. When she stop the bar resets and I need to wait again and it takes too long to Sim complete this task.
When she starts to write the song, does it show no progress at all? Is she able to complete the song eventually if she remains at it, although it takes a long time? This thread sounds like your issue, with the progress resetting, but there is progress to begin with.

yes, no progress. Sim had to spend days writing these songs, but in the process I had to use a cheat code to keep them from moving away from the instrument and fill their hunger/sleep bars. I have this bug (i think) for like half a year. I didn't have this problem before.

yes, I think it's a visual bug, but also it takes too long to finish it and resets progress if Sim don't do it in one go.
