Do you give other sim households careers? Should I?
I just rebuilt a brand new save file, pulling sims and buiildings and making new ones - filling eeeeeevery lot into a new save file - and I'm FINALLY done after nearly a month. Thing is now I'm sitting here wondering if I should go through all the households (even the ones I don't/won't play ever, but they'll make good neighbors!) and give every sim a career...
So like for example, should I give Bella Bohemian the cutey pie who lives on the wrong side of the tram tracks, a criminal career so she can find the one gold ring to rule all the criminals she keeps dumpster diving for?
Should Joe Flyer across the street who got fat by only eating grill cheese sandwiches and sleeping all day become a critic? And what about Mama Babe, the poor mermaid who just wanted to walk on land only to find herself now raising 7 babies, gifted to her by seven different alien mothers!
Should she get a job to support all those crying, black eyed, moveable objects?
You'd think the answer would be yes, but unless I use mods (which I really don't, only for CC like new undies for Granny Cini Pie, so she can feel good looking in the mirror as the Maxis default undies do NOBODY any favors...) is it even worth it?
Like I find the only thing non-household sims do (when they have careers) is make them "unavailable" when you call them to go out to the towns new hot spot thats serving lobster in the desert, from the back of Old Man Pikes trailer home.
And yes all these people do exist in my new neighborhood...but the question is...should they all be employed? Will it make any difference if I never play them? Like I don't think they get promoted or act as my sims boss (like in the Sims 3) do they?
Is there any advantages (per immersion) like that, to give non-played sims careers besides for when you ask them about their careers and you dont' want to find the entire neighborhood is unemployed.
So should I give them all careers? Will it make any difference?
What do you do in your games?
