- No, its not something you can set in CAS as far as I can tell, and from what I've read from other threads on the forum, its a preference your sim gains as you play, so if your sim flirts more with females then it will be easier to successfully flirt with females, if your sim flirts more with males the more they flirt with males the easier it'll be to woo them with your sims flirty skills of seduction.
Hopefully, that makes sense? - I have a mod, show sim info, with it you can see hidden info on a given sim. I've noticed that a lot of them have some sort of gender preference. Most likely from autonimous interactions I would imagine, although some do seem to be created one way or the other from time to time.
So, it will be fun to see this play out in my games. - elelunicyNew SpectatorGender Preference has been in the game since day one. It only affected which gender Sims autonomously choose to flirt with though. It had no impact on whether a Sim responds to a romantic interaction positively or negatively.

@Pamtastic72 it is impossible to delete comments on the forums. But it is possible to report them. Would you mind reporting it too? I've done so already.
Reported, and he can delete it. He simply needs to select all, delete the mean comments and then write deleted (or better yet, I'm sorry) in the box instead and repost.
Oh yeah. I forgot."annabethc;d-961064" wrote:
In the new patch, in the patch notes there's a note that says "Gender Preference now affects flirt options". Was there a new gender preference feature added? Was there one the whole time? I'm so confused. Can someone please explain what this means?
Hi Annabeth! The way gender preference works in game is that if you have a Sim act romantically with particular other Sims, that will become their preference over time. But you can also use this mod to control it yourself: http://modthesims.info/d/576385/gender-preference-set.html I checked it with the update and it's working in my game."luthienrising;c-17120438" wrote:

Thanks for the mod! And my real name's not Annabeth, it's a fictional character's name xD- Hello everyone, I have cleaned up the thread. Let's remember to keep things productive and on topic :)

So it's been in the game all right along, but now we can choose the sim's sexuality in CAS. Is this correct?
No. The only change is that gender preference affects flirting options now. You can read the other comments for an explanation on how gender preference works.- JanuaryGarnet08New Spectator

Yes, you basically trigger it by who your sim flirts with, either autonomously or by your control. If your sim flirts mostly with men it establishes a preference for that gender, and vice versa with women. I assume too that if your sim flirts with both somewhat equally their preference will be for both. :) - I'm glad this thread started. :) I was curious myself what this meant when reading the latest patch notes. Makes sense to me, too, now.
