March 17 Many .package mod files are not loading. Sorry, I don't have more info than this right now. It seems likely that there's an issue on the EA side. At the moment, please just hold off on trying to "fix" this yourself.

March 17 Maxis's EACade has announced that Maxis has identified a fix for mod loading: We’ve identified the cause of the issue impacting CC and Mods, and are now working on the fix and timing for its release. NOTE: This doesn't guarantee that they have found all possible causes. It also doesn't mean all your mods and CC will definitely work after that fix is released as there could be other changes that need updates on modders' side for some mods. Also: I've in multiple meetings tomorrow, so if there's more info, it may come here a little later than you might see it elsewhere, depending on the timing.

The patch for the "Failed to Launch"/all-black main menu error that was affecting some CC users is now out. I believe (though have not confirmed) that this will also clear things up for those of you who could load but some of your CC was missing in the CAS catalogue.

Fun fact! This error affected only "2% of players using specific types of custom content, under certain circumstances." (No, I don't know what those are!)

If you still have “Failed to Launch”:

If you have ReShade, try updating that.

If you don’t have ReShade but do have other mods that install somewhere other than the Mods folder, please dry removing those.

If you have none of those and removing the Mods folder doesn’t solve your issue, head to Bug Reports.

If you have a black screen with words on it or similar issues, you’re in the right thread! Use the “Broken” and “Updated lists.
