@Bluebellflora Hi! I am going in circles and have been working on this issue for weeks and I don't know what else to do. I was using Origin on my Mac for a long time to play Sims and I did play with mods/cc, however, since the switch to EA app, i have not been able to play Sims at all! I use an external hard drive to play.
My problem right now is that the game will not launch. It says everything is downloaded and ready, I press play, and the game just bounces in the dock for a few seconds before returning to the EA app. No messages or errors pop up.
BUT- Initially- I did have an issue with downloading any of my add-ons. It took me several weeks to find the solution to this problem, and it turns out it was because I had some Origin things still floating around in the background-- once cleaning this up, I have been able to successfully download all of my packs, stuff, kits, etc. Everything is downloaded but now it will not launch.
I have removed all of my mods, CC, even all of my saves. I renamed my Sims 4 folder to begin with a new clean game, I have repaired the game multiple times (like too many to count) both manually by following (I think yours?) instructions, as well as repairing through the EA App. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times, I have restarted my computer and EA app multiple times, I have quit the EABackgroundService thingy on the Activity Monitor, I have done truly everything I can think of. Please, please help me. I don't know what else to do at this point except buy a new laptop!! Thank you!!!
