Sims 4- unable to select save file before game crashes (after june 4 update)

On June 5th I updated my game and downloaded Eco Lifestyle, and was able to play the game with little to no issues (just a bit of lag), however after saving and exiting the game I have been unable to even select any of my saves without my game crashing. I am able to successfully reach the main menu and gallery, and create a new save file, but when I click "Load Game" a loading wheel spins and then my game crashes without me even being able to see my save files (even new ones I've just created) on the screen. Sometimes a pop-up appears after the game crashes saying that "The Sims 4 quit unexpectedly" with the option to report the crash, but other times this pop-up does not appear. I have not received any error codes or other information. I have updated, repaired, and reinstalled the game through Origin, updated my computer, and removed my cc with no success (I don't use any mods other than cc). I had not used my computer for several days before June 5th, and am not sure if I got the both the June 3rd and June 4th updates, but maybe they were both just rolled into the one update I had? I'm not a tech expert so this might not be how updates work or at all relevant, but figured I should give all info I had lol.

I have the following packs installed in my game: Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Island Living, Get Famous, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Get Together, Get to Work, Realm of Magic, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Vampires, Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat, Tiny Living, Laundry Day, Kid's Room, Romantic Garden, Movie Hangout, Spooky Stuff, Prefect Patio, and the Free Holiday Stuff.

Attached are screenshots of some the issue as well as my Mac's specs. Please let me know if there is any other information that I could provide you with that could be helpful. 🙂

    Can you try one save instead of the whole folder, so put a crashing save into the newly created folder. I know it sounds like it shouldn't make any difference but we had an issue last year where the saves, mods and tray files HAD to be copied into new saves, mods and tray folders to work. This isn't the same problem but definitely worth trying.

    @Bluebellflora Hi,
    This is what I've done.
    - Removed sims4 folder from documents folder
    - Start game, quit game
    - Copied one (crash) file Slot_00000005.save to saves folder (This is the latest saved game of the crash household)
    - Start game
    - Load game
    - Only 1 save, so loaded this saved game
    - Click on household
    - Click on play button
    - Game shut down itself

    This household has 6 save files, starting from the oldest to newer....the sixth, fifth, fourth, third, and second saved game did not crash the game.....so it look likes only the latest saved game of this household is responsible for the game crash.

    Which is weird, saved on the same day as the second, no new packs installed in the meantime.
    So it's not the end of the world ;-)

    Do you have a Last Crash report in the Sims 4 folder? If so could you copy and paste the contents of it into a post here?

    Sure! After doing a little more research I tried moving my whole sims 4 folder to my desktop and slowly started moving saves back into my game, but unfortunately the one save I opened and used after the update seems to be causing the problem. I think this is the last crash report from having only that one save in my game:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><report><version>2</version><sessionid>3991a1649bc580235edfbb34</sessionid><type>crash</type><sku>ea.maxis.sims4.15.mac</sku><createtime>2020-06-09 16:40:15</createtime><buildsignature>Local.Unknown.Unknown.1.63.134.1220-1.200.000.452.Release</buildsignature><systemconfig></systemconfig><categoryid> 0xf053c0</categoryid><stack> 0xf053c0 0x2b3a</stack><threads></threads><screenshot></screenshot><memdump></memdump><contextdata>Client Session Time: 58.57<br />Num Save Errors: 0<br />Num Load Errors: 0<br />Current Game State: 0x4bebcb10<br />Origin Version: 10,5,71,40931<br />Modded: False<br />SystemInfo: Mac OS X Version 10.12.6 (Build 16G2136) GPU: Intel HD Graphics 6000 macOS Metal driver 0.0.0.0<br />(baseaddr) 0x1088f4000,'The Sims 4' 0x7fff97621000,'libsystem_platform.dylib'(/baseaddr)</contextdata></report>

    Thanks for your help!!

    I've merged your posts as you both have the same error, 0xf053c0. I don't know what this specific error is related to but please could you both attach your Config.log files here? You can find them in your Sims 4 folder.

    You're both running different versions of macOS but both have lower Intel chips (Intel HD 4000 and Intel HD 6000). You've probably already supplied it but which model Macs do you have?

    @Bluebellflora It was tested on two different apple clients.
    1. MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2012 - 2.5GHz i5 - 8GB memory - Intel HD graphics 4000 - 250GB SSD - macOS Mojave 10.14.6)
    2. iMac (21.5-inch, late 2012 - 2.7GHz i5 - 8GB memory - NVIDIA Geforce GT 640M - 240GB SSD - macOS Mojave 10.14.6)

    Game crashes on both systems with the same (latest)save file.

    I shared the config file from macbookpro + imac
    Config.log from macbookpro and imac
