Sims 4 won't update

I have not been able to play my Sims 4 game for over 3 months because every time I turn on EA app, it begins to update and will not update past 8%, after about 30 mins... the EA closes and starts the process all over again, and we still get no where. I have uninstalled the EA app several times and reinstalled it on my MAC, doesn't help, does the same exact thing. I have tried reaching out to an agent but can not reach one through EA help or chat. I even troubleshooted with going to App Recovery and clearing CACHE, still no change. Game requires an update but will still only update to 8%. This game was very expensive and so were the expansion packages I've purchased, I should be able to update and play when I want. Has anyone else had this issue, know how to fix it, or know could help me?
