Crashing on the loading screen

My game keeps crashing on the load screen when I open it. I've taken out all my mods and saves, cleared caches for the game and EA app, repaired the game, reinstalled the game, made new files, uninstalled antivirus software, and nothing is working. Every time it says, unable to start: the game has run out of memory. I've had the game since it dropped, and have always been able to figure out the problem until now. I looked at all the system requirements, and it should be good. Send Help!!!!

  • campbellcas23  Despite the wording, this error is most commonly triggered by an overly-protective antivirus.  So please set exceptions in yours for TS4_x64.exe and EADeskop.exe.  Add TS4_DX9_x64 and/or TS4_x64_fpb if you use the DirectX 9 or Memory Boost version of the game, respectively.

If that doesn't help, please list the antivirus you use.

I use Total AV, but I uninstalled it to see if that would fix the issue.

  • campbellcas23  Please repair the game if you haven't done so specifically after uninstalling Total AV.  Clear the EA App's cache first:

With Total AV removed, Windows Defender should have taken over, which could mean Controlled Folder Access is having the same effect.  Here's how to check:

If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
