I can't buy anything on the EA app no matter what I do

I don't know what else to do, and since i can't ask for help from a REAL PERSON that works at EA, this is my last resort.

I use the EA app to play The Sims 4. I like to buy packs and other stuff sometimes when they're on sale or if i think it's worth it. First of all, there is no error code. It tells me "That didn't work, let's try again. If the problem persists you may want to use a different payment method or try again later." And that's it; nothing else, ever. I've tried both things, many times, and get the same result.

In the past when this happened -- instead of using mine -- i used my partner's card and his worked just fine for a few purchases, (i made these purchases over time, 4 or 5 months give or take) but suddenly it just stopped working a few days ago when the kits came out, or that's when i noticed now his card didn't work anymore. it gives me the same error when i try his. I've deleted and re added both cards, I've tried some gift cards i have in my wallet that i know still have a few bucks on them and the same error comes up; I've got money on my cards and they work.

My billing information is all correct. I've double, triple, quadruple, and even quintuple checked. Nope, still hasn't changed since the last time I looked. My region is the same, the zip code, my name. I cleared the app's cache, i deleted the app and reinstalled it, and obviously since i uninstalled and reinstalled the app, i have internet.

I've found a post on here from August 2023 of someone who's had a similar problem and i found nothing helpful under that. I'm at a genuine loss here; nothing works and I've found no solutions when googling my problem, not that i really know how to google it. I guess EA is telling me they don't want anymore of my money without telling me.

Requesting help on the EA site has only lead me in unhelpful circles of links and them pushing a stupid AI that just regurgitates everything I've already read and tried. i just want to talk to a real person but the algorithm (another AI) decided my problem isn't good enough.

need more help? ask fellow gamers for free instead of us paying more real people to help solve problems :) Maximize profits for shareholders ;P

anyway, i just want to buy lilsimsie's Comfy Gamer Kit. If anyone knows how to buy The Sims 4 kits and stuff elsewhere, that would work too. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • I had the same issue. I ultimately ended buying the kits on the website.

     J’ai le même problème, j’ai envoyé un mail à EA et pas de réponse ... Vraiment décevant . Si quelqu’un a la solution, je veux bien :)

    i tried to buy the kits on the website and i get the exact same error. i literally dont understand. what is going on. why is this an issue right now.
