legacy edition gets downloaded even though it can handle the updated versions

I have noticed that when I repair my game it tries to repair and update with the Legacy Edition of the game. I usually stop it but I am curious if I am doing the wrong thing. My specs can handle the 64bit version so I don't know why it tries to download that version. Does anyone have this experience or answers? Should I let it download?

Thank you in advance

  • Kanojo_Ro  I've seen sporadic reports of this over the two years since the Legacy Edition was removed from Origin, and I've never been able to figure out why this happens.  Most people don't see it, or I guess maybe they don't notice, but that would be a LOT of people not noticing.

It doesn't matter whether you let the LE download or not.  It isn't going to load, and you can delete the LE folder afterwards if you want.  It'll be here:

    [install location]\The Sims 4\Game\Bin_LE
