my sims won't give me the option to open it

Back in May my sims updated and I couldn't open it since. All it gives me the option to do is just manage my downloaded packs which I bought off of the EA app. When I click manage it tells me to go to steam to manage packs. I had an account with steam back in 2019 and haven't touched it since middle school I'm a sophmore in college now. I downloaded steam to delete sims and uninstall any packs but it still would tell me there are packs. I've restarted and troublshooted all three apps and still nothing has helped. I have reported the issue multiple times and nothing has been done. I have deleted any mods that I had downloaded and it still won't open. pls someone help I have invested too much money and time in my game and it's my fav game ever.

  • laila3854968  To be clear, the EA App still tells you to "manage on Steam" rather than letting you play?  Have you cleared the App's cache after making changes to your Steam account?

Please also confirm that the Steam account where you removed the game (or your DLC, whatever you did) is the one linked to THIS EA account.  To do so, try signing into any EA site with the credentials for your Steam account.  If you land in the correct EA account, they're linked; if anything else happens, let me know.

Yes, when I open up the EA app and try to play sims the play button is grey and only the manage button is available. I've cleared the cache multiple times and it still won't do anything. In my steam account I have cleared out all of my downloads. I only had one steam account and one EA account so this is all I have to work with.

Then clear the EA App's cache again and see whether it still thinks you own the game in Steam.

Alternately, you can unlink your Steam and EA accounts, that is if you don't have another reason for the link.

In either case, you might need to claim Sims 4 in the EA App again, but once you've done so, hopefully it'll stick there and not keep directing you to Steam.
