Sims 4 wont launch

Ever since the new pack and kits came out I cannot play my game. I’ve tried everything I could possibly think of to do. I’ve cleared my cache, went through the files of the game and cleared those out, repaired the ea app, repaired the sims game itself, deleted my mods folder and all my mods. I even deleted the sims 4 from my computer, deleted EA app, and reinstalled both. You’d think that would get it to launch? Nope! It’s been four days now of being completely unable to play. Nothing on my laptop has changed. As a last ditch effort I even uninstalled the add-on packs to see if I could even get the base game to work. Still no. It will say “preparing game” after I click play, then nothing. The game never launches. No error message, nothing. It’s like I never clicked play. But then when I try to launch the game again, it says I can’t because the game is already running even though it’s clearly not. Nobody else seems to be having this issue and I’m about to give up and never play this stupid game again.

  • happyoutkast  The "already running" error after a failed launch is relatively common and not necessarily part of the issue.  While troubleshooting, please restart your computer each time the game doesn't open.

For the troubleshooting itself, have you removed the entire Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts yet?  If not, please do so now.  This will remove, but not delete, your saves and other user data.  Just see whether the game opens at all.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I have removed the entire folder as well and attempted to launch which also did nothing. Do you want me to attach it here?
