The Sims 4 Won't Launch

Hi.

I bought a bundle including Cottage Living on Steam on August 4th. The game worked fine that day and yesterday morning. I tried playing again yesterday evening and it hasn't worked since. The game will open, it allows me to press "resume" but will not load in the game. I get a pop up saying the Sims 4 isn't working and Microsoft will let me know if they find out what the issue is. I have removed mods, updated my drivers, ran every diagnostic test I could think of, and it still won't work. I am very irritated because I spent $50 just for my game to break. 

Basically, I need to know if this issue needs resolving or else I will have to refund myself for what was recently bought. It also doesn't help that EA hasn't provided any technical support help at all. You're just supposed to click through summarized "issues" rather than being supplied with an email or phone number to where you can talk to an actual person to solve the problem. It says there's a chat option but then proceeds to not supply that either no matter where I go on the EA help page. Saying I am livid is a HUGE understatement.
