Load Error Code 800/801

When sim travels to different lot (ex: high school, other homes, bars, etc.) the lot disappears and it is empty. Get error code 801 when trying to build on a lot. After leaving empty lot it disappears from map as well. Have relaunched the game, repaired the game, restart the EA app, and bug still persists. No CC or Mods. played on Mac. 

Every time I try to load the game from the main menu, this pops up I have tried uninstalling the game. I've tried shutting down my computer. I've tried removing any security barriers. I'm on a MacBook and I'm not sure what else to do. I just wanna take care of my kiddos lol.

Hello, I keep having issues with my game loading and then not letting me play certain households. It'll say relaunch game, so I do, but it still won't work. On top of that the last time that happened I completely got rid of my old worlds and saves and started a new one. Now that I did I barely have two households none of which are in a "rental" house and once again I am having the same issue.

Yesterday, on July 17, 2026, I opened The Sims 4, and the game required an update. I let it update. Everything seemed to be fine. I finished building a house that was already under construction, and I saved the game.

The problem started when I created my own new household named Craft- 2 young adults, 2 dogs, 1 cat. The first time I tried to save the Craft household, I got the following message: Error 801, we recommend restarting the game. So I did that.  I exited the game using the Exit Game option from the menu.

I created the exact same household agian with the same name, Craft. This time it saved without any error, and I saved the game. However, when I wanted to move the family into a house, I got the same message again: Error 801, we recommend restarting the game.  I decided to continue anyway and moved the Craft household into the house. The family moved in successfully, but the specific house with that household would not load. I waited for more tnah 10 minutes, and it still never opened. 

I had to close the game using Task Manager, so of course that progress was not saved. I started the game again, moved the new Craft household into the house once more, and this time it worked. I saved the game. I then tried to open the house again, but the same error message appeared. I closed the game again using the Exit Game menu option.

After reopening it, I tried loading other households.  The households loaded, but their houses had disappeared. When I entered the lot, only the family was there, without the house. I tried building, and it worked. The lot behaved as if nothing had ever been built on it. The house had also disappeared from the world map.

I then switched back to the new Craft household, which was the one that originally had the problem. When I selected the male Sim, who was outside the house, everything worked normally. But when I tried to switch control to the female Sim, the game reported the error again.

I do not use any mods, and I have never used any mods in this game. I only use legal content. The only thing I know is that after the update I downloaded all the free items that were available in the Marketplace, such as dress, swimsuits, and other items. I used those dress and swimsuits when creating the female Sim in the Craft household. I do not know whether this is related, but the error only occurred with the female Sim. 

I then tried playing in a different world than Ranch, but the houses disappeared there as well. Even houses and restaurants in the worlds that I had not visitied during this session disappeard. When I noticed that houses were disappearing, I did not save the game anymore. The last time I saved the game was after moving the Craft household into the house.

I really hope this can be fixed because I spent a lot of time building every single house, restaurant and bar. I would be very upset if I lost all of them.

This issue is still currently under investigation which means that the team are still working on finding what's causing these issues.

I have this lot that is a residential rental and If i try to go into build mode it will either give me error code 800 or an infinite loading screen. I have tried to place down a blank lot but that just makes the manage worlds building load infinitely. I even took out for rent and i still can't access this lot. Is there anything else i can do to try to access this lot as it is the only thing corrupted in my save file. This happens with all mods and cc off too

so has EA completely ceased any efforts to fix this bc it seems like they have. multi-billion dollar company you guys

this issue is still happening and has been going on for at least a year. as someone who wanted to purchase expansion packs, how can i when i cant even access my lots? 

I don't have any mods or cc, I've repaired the game and done what everyone in this forum has recommended, and my game still won't let my household load. I'm honestly at my wits end, I've tried everything from reddit and TikTok and nothing is working. is anyone else experiencing issues? does anyone have any tips or tricks to try?

I can't find the EA installer app to repair that so if anyone has tips on how to locate that I would appreciate it as well.

Ive tried repairing the game, resaving game, clearing cache, checking mods (even tho I have none) I've restarted the EA app and my computer, I've tried deleting files that might be causing random issues

I've never had a problem like this, so I'm really just lost atp. :/
