My sims either won't follow a command (just stand there) or they "do" it without actually moving. For example, they will go to sleep without getting into bed. I've linked to a video to better explain. As you can see from the video this is without mods/cc installed. I play on an M1(2020) Mac.

Im not OP but this is a bug that has existed since at least 2018 on PC (i have no idea about consoles), when enough of the same actions (type of generator) occurs in a row, within the exact same timeframe, it causes the sim to bug out and freeze. It occurs without mods, and often occurs when in 3x speed.
Hi, not op either but have had the same issues over the last few months. I play with no mods etc, and play on PC. Usually happens after been playing an hour or so but sometimes happens straight away. Also seems to coincide with stuffing up work/school start times. It will come to the time my sims has to start work/school and just tick over to their next shift start time in the work tab thingy (which then eliminates the ability to use the go to work button as it doesnt appear, also doesnt appear as an option if you click on the sim either) then randomly hours (sim hours) later it'll send them to work but still keep them at work for the required amount of hours they're due to work (sometimes longer) which leaves them coming drained of their needs as I wasn't able to counter in them starting work at some random time. Once these start happening they only progressively get worse until it gets too frustrating and I have to shut everything down and restart.
There's a few existing threads for freezing/getting stuck already so are any of these what you guys are seeing

Currently having this same problem after updating the latest patch. Tried with and without mods, on old and new saves, tried repairing the game, nothing worked. My sims can for example watch tv or talk to plants, but can't interact with other sims or sit down/go to sleep. Playing on PC.
It finally happened. I got hit with the sims bugs. My sims won't move. I click on an object; it won't let them do it. I reset them using shift and left click, nothing works. They just stand there glitching. No mods/CC. Can anyone help me?
Same here, my sim put her infant to bed then suddenly stopped working. No menu comes up when clicking on the sim and whenever I have the infant ask for food or diaper change my sim goes forward then starts waving her hands like something is blocking her path (nothing is blocking her path btw)
I've repaired my game and issue is still there, I've removed my mods folder and the issue is still there, only now my sims is marked as "neighbor" when hovering over her head.
Been playing all day and this issue started somewhere around 30 min ago.
edit: I'm on pc but playing through EA launcher, never played through steam so it's not a steam issue since OP tagged as playing on steam.
Since the Sept 18th update, my game has a new issue with live mode gameplay. My sim will carry out some actions when queued, but others get stuck in the queue while my sim just stands there, doing nothing. Resetting the sim, both through right clicking and CTRL+SHIFT+c doesn't solve the issue, disabling and removing all mods and cc didn't solve the issue, travelling to a new lot doesn't solve the issue, and a lot of the time when my sim DOES carry out a queued action, they'll go through the animations while nowhere near the item the animations are tied to. For example, my sim got out of bed, then stood next to her bed and did the animation for washing her hands in the bathroom sink right there in the bedroom.
