We are in October with no roster update to correct player numbers or ratings. If you aren't going to correct players' numbers, throwing styles, running styles, or gear to reflect their actual likeness, How about you let us edit those things? You can keep the ratings but at least let us edit the things you refuse to. This is embarrassing, really. We are about a month and a half from the end of the regular season, and rosters still aren't accurate. Likenesses aren't accurate. I mean come on. Hello all, I have noticed that the CPU RB's are having some issues with their pathfinding leading to them not being efficient runners. For reference, I am on Heisman sliders with the CPU Run Blocking knocked all the way up to 97 to try and aid their efforts, but it's not enough. Take a simple inside zone play. The RB can aim for the A and B gaps. What is happening right now, even when facing a highly rated back like Love and his elite OL at Notre Dame, is that the blocking will be quality and Love simply needs to hit either gap full speed for a likely gain of 4-6 yards, which you'll easily take on an early down. What ends up happening is typically 1 of 2 things. Love will immediately take the handoff and try to inexplicably bounce it outside, usually unsuccessfully, often running into either the back of the tackle or just straight into whoever has set the edge leading to a stuffed run. Or, he will take the handoff and make multiple hard cuts in a short period time which causes him to essentially gain 0 ground while allowing time for the defense to swarm him for another stuffed run. I can only guess as to what is happening behind the scenes since I'm not personally looking at the logic. The first issue I think that is at play here is that the ballcarrier radius checks for threats is potentially too large. That could be what is causing the CPU RBs to "freakout" so much on runs between the tackles and is having them either dance behind the line too much or bounce it outside. Take the inside zone run example from above. While we, the users, can tell that the play is blocked well and the RB can hit the hole for a nice chunk of yards, I think the distance checks are causing the RB to interpret the 2nd level defenders near the gap as larger threats than they are. They're unblocked and they are within the radius of the check, so the logic tells them to avoid those players. The only option they have to avoid those players is bouncing it outside. This is also why the CPU seems to run better on perimeter runs by default. When blocked to the same quality as the inside zone example above, the CPU has a lot less issues navigating the field because they're already aiming outside, the blocks are meant for them to get outside, so any logic issues telling them to go outside only reinforce what they are already doing by design. I don't know if the designed gap(s) on the play hold weight in the ballcarrier's pathfinding logic, but if so, I think that weight needs to be increased so that RBs are more willing to hit the designed holes more often to take the 3-5 yard gains that most offenses would gladly take. On top of that, I don't know if the radius checks that cause them to bounce outside also do the math to see if the RB would even beat the player to the edge or not. If not, that's something that would likely be beneficial. However, that's also not likely something that would make it into a patch. If there is that additional logic in place, then the higher rated backs, at least in terms of awareness and ballcarrier vision, need to rely on that math more often so that they are more intelligent in when they do and do not bounce the runs outside so that it happens in more proper situations. A RB like love is seasoned and knows not to bounce every run outside. When he does, he typically picks the right time to do it and wins the foot race. That needs to be represented in game. One other issue that I have spotted consistently as well is that when RBs are making the right decisions and are trying to cut upfield or back into the cutback lane, they are often doing it a step or two late. On a stretch play, if they are reading the T's leverage and decide to cut up his backside like they are supposed to, they're doing it a step late causing them to physically collide with the tackle causing them to slowdown if not outright fall down or get wrapped up by the engaged defender. It's almost as if the ballcarrier logic and locomotion system aren't completely in sync and when the decision to cut is made, it's mid step cycle causing this delay, which seems to be happening at a high frequency. I think if the ballcarrier logic could be cleaned up and improved on, the CPU's offense would become a lot more efficient and authentically challenging to play against. Right now, even when trying to max out the CPU's run game sliders on Heisman you can slow a team down like ND without much hassle simply due to the RB pathfinding issues. Their OL will open the holes you expect given their ratings, it's the RB play that is the issue. I hope this feedback is helpful and does make it to the team. I do enjoy CFB26 and think the game has improved significantly over 25 in many areas. I even think the CPU's run game has improved over 25, so I don't want this post to come off too negatively. Last season CFB25 added tons of equipment to the EA football world that we haven't seen before and have wanted in Madden for years. To say this year for CFB has been a disappointment with equipment is an understatement. Equipment Guru said countless times over X that new things were gonna be added yet the only thing we got were few more cleats and gloves. As far as the "new" sleeves they have all come from Madden 25. CFB is missing TONS of equipment. From ski masks, one leg sleeve, two sleeves on one arm, multiple arm bands, tattoos, etc. This has killed the authenticity of Madden for decades and now finds it ways into CFB. Madden AND 2K need TONS of equipment added, a face scanner or builder, tattoos and so on... like the thing NBA2K has had for YEARS. Ive been asking for like 4-5 years now as well as the rest of the EA community for more and we never get it. seems like we never will. Please bring EA College Football to the Nintendo Switch 2. Madden 26 is awesome on the Switch 2 and I a love playing it, and I would love playing EA College Football on the Nintendo Switch 2. Playing it on that device would allow me to play the game a lot. I could play it while at work, on the plane or train, in my hotel room when I travel, and on the go in general. College Football, with so much to do to manage your team as a coach (recruiting, developing your players' skills and abilities, game planning, taking a team from the bottom to a college championship, etc.) this game is perfect for access on the go. The Xbox or PS5 versions, while awesome in themselves, simply don't allow me to tinker while at work, on the plane, or on the go. I would be able to sink some serious time into this game were it on the Switch 2. This game is a gem. Please bring it to the Switch 2. I would enjoy being addicted to it. I’ve noticed that my players steps get really choppy like they are running a ladder drill. It is odd that the runner would shorten their stride in this moment. Hey College Football 26 fans! Finally everyone gets to enjoy our labor of love. We’re reading a ton of feedback, checking into streams, and watching your content. You might even see us drop some codes in streams over the weekend! We're here to share some info around some of the gameplay discussions we’re seeing so far. This may not be every little thing, but stick with us - there’s a lot of people playing the game now! First up, kicking some field goals! We have seen some players encounter a rare issue with being unable to kick a field goal. We have confirmed this rare issue only happens if your kicker is left-footed and if the kick was going to be blocked. We’ll get this one addressed for you in a future Title Update. Next up, we’re seeing conversation around two specific gameplay topics: stiff arms being overly effective and pass protection. As the game just hit worldwide launch for a ton of players, we are currently gathering more data on effectiveness of the stiff arm. We always want ball carrier moves to be fun and effective and for the stiff arm in particular, you can always flick the right stick down to counter with a “Cut Stick” which takes out the ball carrier's legs. While we see the sweet highlights and conversation - in the background we’re gathering the data, but there is a built-in counter to the stiff arm, so try that out for us. Head into practice mode and hit one hundred cut sticks before bed! Pass protection received a major overhaul in College Football 26 and we wanted to focus on a few key reminders about how our pass pro now works: Authenticity: All pass plays now come set up with unique pass protections on a per play basis. If you’re calling plays and feeling like your line is sliding to a side without you doing any inputs, that is intended. That is how pass protection would be set by default for that specific play call. Lets roll through some examples: Under Center: Set to base protection by default. Gun: ‘Empty’ protection if all pass eligible targets are out on a route. HB on a Check & Release: Default is set to half-slide away from HB PA Pass: Half-slide away from play fake Responsiveness: Protection on the Fly Protection on the Fly lets you quickly set your pass pro with a flick of the right-stick. Flick left once for a half-slide left and double flick left for a full slide. Control: Un-Target Defender With our pass protection mechanics, you can also just flick up on the right-stick to un-target a defender. Why would you ever do this? It’ll allow you to strategically leave a defender unblocked that’s optimal for your play call vs the formation front. Maybe you’re playing against another user and they’re mugging the gap or maybe you find a gnarly screen play and don’t want your line to chip a specific player. After all, you are the shot caller of your pass protection scheme. So lets say you call Z Spot out of Gun Doubles Y Off. This is a 2x2 formation with the HB on a swing route. By default, your protection is set to ‘Empty’ - even if you block your HB, your pass protection is still set to ‘Empty’, so you'll potentially want to think about making an additional adjustment with your pass protection depending on the defensive look or flow of the game. Of course you can always call a play, pull up the pass protection (L1/LB) and then set the protection to base protection - which may be what you’re used to if you played last year, that was primarily our default protection. Y’all know ball, we trust you. Just be sure to check your pass pro for us via Coach Cam (R2/RT) before snapping the ball. One last thing since we mentioned snapping the ball. We’re seeing some players encounter a rare issue where they are unable to snap the ball occasionally. We have investigated this issue and are working to address it as soon as possible. In our investigation, you can hit this rare issue when you’re at the line of scrimmage and hit RT/R2 + Up on the right-stick and then release them both simultaneously. If you happen to hit this, we are seeing a successful workaround with repeatedly pressing B/Circle several times or attempting another Pass Protection adjustment with LB/L1. This one is for sure on our radar and is a top priority to address. As mentioned earlier, this isn’t everything we are tracking just some of the key gameplay topics. I’ve been playing CFB 26 since launch day, almost every ounce of free time I have. And I’m about ready to uninstall the game due to the blocking on pass plays being PUTRID. I am consistently seeing guards and tackles performing CUT BLOCKS on PASS PLAYS. This isn’t football. No one does that. And it results in instant sacks. I’m also seeing DTs bullrush past the center, right into a guard DOING NOTHING, and they don’t pick them up or double. I’m seeing guys I’m sliding my blocking to focus on, still getting insta-sheds and it’s so unbelievably frustrating that it’s making me never want to play this game again. Especially considering the fact that this has been an issue in EA football games for 6 years now. Like what is going on here? I shouldn’t have to max protect on every single passing play to prevent insta sacks every time I drop back. I shouldn’t have to slide my O-line just to get them to see blocking assignments that are RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. I shouldn’t have to base protect my o-line because there are silly preprogrammed blocking slides on plays. Seriously I love this game. Best and most fun football game EA has made since like 2008. But the pass protection is so unbelievably awful that it’s STEALING my enjoyment of this game from me. EA PLEASE FIX THIS, or you’ll lose a gamer forever. I’m tired of this. Year after year after year the offensive blocking is awful and I’m just over it. This was my last year giving yall a chance, and we’re off to a bad start. Line play is the FUNDAMENTAL aspect of football. It’s what makes or breaks games and teams. And the line play in this game SUCKS. There’s no other way to put it. I’m trying to be nice. But getting sacked 0.85 seconds after hiking the ball, 5 or 6 TIMES A GAME, is ridiculous. It’s not football, and it’s not enjoyable. Fix it soon or I’m done with EA football forever. We’ve been asking you guys to fix this for 6 YEARS. There’s no reason for it. I’m going to create another post with screenshots of the PUTRID blocking in this game to follow up on this one, as I’d like there to be MULTIPLE posts talking about this. Can we please make a co op feature for online dynasty in ncaa 26? Making it able to play on the same team as friends online. This was such a cool feature on the early ncaa games. I can’t imagine this being a tough add to the game!! We all live in different states and want to be able to run a dynasty together. Even if that means one guy running the dynasty, and being able to invite the others into the switch sides screen. Please make this possible!! Old school question here. Back in NCAA 15, we could export a draft class and import it to Madden. With College Football 25, it was a disappointment for franchise guys to see this feature was not included. Of course that would mean being able to import draft classes into Madden. Do you not think it would be a selling point when bundling Madden and College Football with these features in each? I would like to respectfully ask that the EA Community Managers engage more with this community. I think we deserve better than what we are getting now. I know you are not miracle workers. You are not devs, can not fix bug, and probably don't even have much sway in helping decide which issues get addressed. But there is one thing you CAN control. And that is your engagement with this community. I'm not asking for magic fixes. But I would like (and as a customer what I expect) is a modicum of honesty, transparency, and two-way communication. It's not too much to ask, and it's what we as a community deserve. Is it me or is everyone unable to establish a run game inside? It seems like the lineman don’t block the middle LB and he always shoots the gap. I’ve managed to climb to all American and they sprinkle in opponents from Heisman I’ve noticed. So that means all I play against is Nickel double mug every game.
