Nintendo players are treated unfair
Hello everyone and a special hello to those %5 of people who play on switch. I feel a little left out from all my other friends who are on playstation and xbox especially with the pre-order for fc 26 ultimate edition who get 1500 more fc points and a 93+ icon pick. I accidentally bought a DLC on EA without owning the base game. Obviously, the DLC is useless without the main game, so I tried to request a refund. But EA didn’t give me any response at all — they just closed my case without saying anything. No email, no reason, nothing. I just want to get a refund so I can buy the full game properly. This kind of customer service is really disappointing. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?
The (actual) Friends list problem
5 years since the EA app betas, and the main problems with the friends list has still not been rectified. I'm not here to bash on EA or anything, just asking a question regarding actual functionality that is present in every competing launcher on PC. Why is the friends list limited to 99 friends? - Most other launchers supports at least 400 friends, and I had around 200 friends on Origin. Why does the right click not do anything, no drop down menu or anything? Every other PC launcher has this option. Even Origin had it, so why can't EA app manage friends the same way? Consoles also has the option to manage friends and game lobbies through the friends list. This is the Steam drop down menu. While in a game lobby, you also have the option to invite friends through this menu, or when friends are in an open game lobby, you can join through this menu. Same thing, but in League of Legends. The option to join game lobbies is not in the right click menu, but rather behind the friends' names, as a separate button. Like Origin had. Here is Ubisoft's version. The join/invite option becomes visible when a you or a friend plays a game that both owns. Side note: Ubisoft's client looks almost identical to the EA app. And lastly, here is Activision-Blizzard's Battle.net client. Like with the others, the option to join/invite becomes available when you or your friends are in a game lobby. Why is this functionality so hard to implement?EA App vs. Origin - Who did it better?
So, after the Origin workaround got removed, I have not had the desire to play much of EA titles. Why? Because the EA app launcher is a mess that has never worked right for me. Game overlay: Origin - Worked fine in every game that supported an overlay. Chats, friends list, game invites, options to join games. All was there. Even a rudimentary web browser. EA app - Serves to only display friends list and chats. Does not allow for joining games, feels clunky to use. And worst of all, it has never worked properly for me in older games, like Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition, so I can never host lobbies that my overseas friends can join anymore, since those games require a working overlay to manage the in-game invite function. Friends list: Origin - Had support for up to 400 friends, if I recall correctly. A healthy number. I had around 200 friends on Origin. - Very similar to how Steam and other launchers manages the friends list. Supported game invites and joining games by right-clicking on the friend you wanted to join/invite, or joining games directly with the nice blue button. EA app - Has a hard-cap of 99 friends! - This is some real BS, which means a lot of re-adding if old friends wants to catch up. No support for joining/inviting friends' games. - This functionality is present in every other game launcher available. Steam, Epic, Ubisoft and so on.. All of them supports game invites and joining through the friends list. Hell, even the CONSOLES has a join/invite function through the friends list. Come on EA, we live in 2025. This functionality should be a given. UI Origin - This was probably the weakest point of the old Origin launcher, where the UI was pretty much the same throughout its lifespan from 2011 and all the way up to the end. But it was functional enough, and easy to use and understand. It did not have a nice dark mode though, as it was mostly white, and the performance was all over the place, with frequent hangs. But it had a much more comprehensive settings menu. EA app - Looks nice and modern, and performs rather well. It feels more complicated to use compared to Origin, and the limited launcher settings tab is hidden behind your name. Library Origin - Showed every game you owned, including those that were part of the EA Play program, if you had previously been a subscriber. This made it easier to re-subscribe since all the games were in your library to download and play for a later date. Origin also supported trial version of games. EA app - Does not show all the games all the time, no trial versions, and any EA Play game you had in Origin is not present. Overall Experience Origin - Functioned as any other game launcher on PC. Intuitive to use, and had every function you needed from a game launcher. Granted, it was prone to hanging and crashing, but when it worked, it worked really well, and it felt like an EA version of Steam, in every good way possible. 9/10 - It had its issues, but it was a serviceable game launcher. EA app - Has not been a great experience in the slightest. The launcher is too limited, and lacks any form of basic functionality you would expect from a game launcher on PC. It feels more like a storefront page with a game library and a tiny friends list tacked on. 3/10 - While it looks and performs well, it does not serve its functionality as a game launcher should. My personal recommendation is for EA to implement a 400 friends cap and the functionality to invite/join games through the friends list, as ANY NORMAL GAME LAUNCHER HAS. That would be a start at least. Any thoughts from you guys?Things take a little longer to load than usual...
cant play any EA games................ ever since i did the pre alpha run in the new BF game i cant connect to the EA app none of my games will load up ( even if i install em through steam)IF they have to connect to the the app then i have a good chance the game will not run and i have done literally every thing down to manually allowing the apps connection to the internet......AM I BANNED?D or something......cuz im starting to think that i am banned CM edit: edited title for clarity.
EA app feedback(mods)
I wish that the EA app would be more friendly towards mod managers and custom software/mods for games. I am trying to launch dragon age inquisition through frosty mod manager and the EA app is blocking me from doing so. Its not like I'm hacking the game to cheat my way all the way to the end game, I'm just trying to add stuff to the game. EA app is just impeding my progress. No where else to get this game besides through EA so make it modable please?
The New App UI is Not Intuitive.
The app layout was fine to begin with, you have installed games, and you see them on the left to quickly click on whatever game you'd like to interact with and there would be a nifty button to update or run the game from there. Now, you open the app and it shows you your home page which is just full prompts to buy buy buy and you have to click on the three lines to pull up the bar with your games and options to look at other tabs. This bar is now something that has to be pulled up instead of just being there and quickly accessible. I think the fact that it isn't a toggle in the settings, or at the very least a toggle button in itself that STAYS there is a simply bad choice. It makes using the app a bit of a chore. It's not a critical accessibility issue but it bothered me enough to actually write on a forum about it. Do not sacrifice the user experience for aesthetics. I don't want a "sleek" minimal game launcher, I want a game launcher that meets my needs and doesn't make me do extra work for something that I didn't even have to think about before.
Please unban virtual machines!
I don't think I'm in the right room, but I don't know where to put it! I'm using a virtual machine: Shadow, because I can't afford a real computer, and for years I've played EA games without any problems (FIFA 22, 23, 24, and F1 games from 2017 to 2024), but since November, EA games can't be played on virtual machines! I thought it was because of cheaters, but why not just ban the cheaters? Why ban all virtual machines? I've never cheated in any game because I don't see the point, but now we're being punished because of some cheater!? Thanks, EA! Above all, we don't have a real reason why virtual machines are banned from EA games (cheaters are just a rumor), but more importantly, will we ever have a real reason or will virtual machines ever be banned? Please, EA, unban virtual machines, just ban the cheaters if that's the real reason!New Trophy Celebration in FC 26
Wouldn't it be nice in career mode to get a new cutscene when lifting trophies. Like we could have the same concept like lifting it and taking it to the fans ect but even like different options such as how to lift the trophy and receiving winners medals. This would add a better feeling of winning something instead of seeing the same old bland cutscene we had had since fifa 17.EA app constantly crashing.
I'm on Windows 10 pro. system specs CPU AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D RAM 32 GB @ 3600 MT GUP AMD Radeon RX 7600 1 TB SSD My EA app is just constantly closing after 5 or 6 seconds it started after I put in a old hard drive from a previous system and the only thing I could think that would make the EA app unhappy was a really old install of burnout paradise remastered from a lost EA account and I'm thinking it is just auto closing thinking something's wrong. I have since completely disconnected the drive and it is still doing it afterwards I have done several fresh installs and even used Revo uninstaller and no luck.
Payments for EA apps
Currently I enter my credit card information. I hope that I can buy EA currency at a nearby convenience store like other game companies. If I use a credit card, I have to pay the next month. It's possible on PlayStation, but on PC, I have to pay separately. In other words, I hope that I can buy EA currency at a store.
Why does this worthless piece of crap keep opening itself overnight?
I've googled several times... I've disabled startup features on the app itself, and also in windows. Yet, every time I open my laptop, there it is again. WHY? There is nothing showing in the task manager related to EA It's like it gets jealous when I play Steam games, and is like a stalker ex girlfriend who just won't accept the breakup and move on. She also won't let you move on either. She is there, haunting you and reminding you ever second of your day, that you used to love her and you promised to be with her forever.... I have seen others with this problem too, but I've not found a resolution.We hate ea app !
So im willing to buy couple of games from steam made by EA.. i saw many bad reviews of such as good game as older battlefield is.. then i realized .. YOU WANT ME TO INSTALL YOUR NOT WORKING BUGGY SLOW VIRUS ON MY 6000€ COMPUTER ?! I have all my games on steam ! As 99% of population i ever spoke with.. i gave ea app chance, it's not working even for couple of minutes properly, on niether of my 3 computers at home. Logging out and changing passwords itself, ( idk if it's bug or your servers are constantly being attacked by indian hackers) , shutdowns, freezings, bugs... During one day i had to reset my password 3 times.. ( from what i read on forums, all my problems are extremely common) .. so what about to delete that crap, and put all ur games directly to steam ?
Please add the ability to join and invite friends to games from the friends list
On Origin, I enjoyed the ability to invite friends to Mass Effect 3 games directly from the friends menu even if I was in the middle of a game, as well as join friends' games in progress. This was especially useful if one of us disconnected from a match; we could invite each other back or join. Now Origin is discontinued, and the new app is missing this crucial feature. For games that aren't a part of EA Connect, the ability to invite friends is limited. For Mass Effect 3, we can only invite from the lobby. Joining or inviting mid-match, we're out of luck. Users have been asking for this for years. Please add this feature.Why change my language setting?
its april 2025. There is a new update on the EA app. My setting has been english and was fine for many years. Suddenly the app decides to change it. In my Account Management it's english. in my OS setting its english. Please test your app and don't simply default based on region it's really annoying.
No Longer Able to Play Two Games At The Same Time?
I tried to launch Sims 4 while I had Sims 3 running. It's just easier for me to progress games at the same time or during down time in one game. When I clicked "Sims 4" play button, I got a message that I have a game running and a request to close that game first. Why is that? I own both games. I should be able to launch them since they are not the same game and they are not being launched from different devices with one EA account.
No gift option in EA app still???
so tried buying battlefield 2042 for my friend since its on sale in the ea app but there is still no gift option.... a couple of my friends and I have gamepass ultimate and play through ea play but havn't really played the new battlefield after all the updates that fixed the game because one of our friends don't have gamepass I'll be honest he isn't the biggest fan of the large battle games (was a huge fan of the bad company ones) so on those titles we tend to gift him the games.... i have seen numerous forum posts seeing we hear you with replies dating 2yrs ago saying we hear ya and we still have no option I seriously don't understand the point in having your own launcher if you aren't making it so people can buy copies for their friends... hell i did that even when digital store fronts weren't a thing
