Feature Request - Transmission Setting: Car
Hello there, hope someone from the EA WRC Team Reads this. First of all love the Gameplay so far. Great Job, delivering on your promises so far <3. My Request: Please add a Setting, like in Dirt Rally 2, where the Transmission i use is determined by the car: i.e.: WRC Car : Sequential, Group B Car Manual, like IRL. I love that we get to play different kinds of champiuonships in the Career Mode, always having to change those settings between events, takes away from the Experience tho. To be clear, i dont want to be able to set Transmission for each car individually, i'd just like there to be a setting, that the actual Car Transmission Decides, which Transmission i have to use. Thank you very much, please let me know if this will come and maybe my fellow gamers can share if they are also missing this feature3.4KViews144likes29CommentsClubs - Feature Additions/Improvements
Hey all. It's great to see clubs in from launch for the first time. However, there are definite improvements needed for clubs to get them to surpass or even just back to the level of where they were in DiRT Rally 2.0 and even DiRT Rally. 1 - Moderated Clubs - right now we lack the option to moderate who can and can't join your club. For private communities or leagues trying to run things in a more organised way, this is essential. I'm personally not a fan of having people I don't know to some extent on my friends lists, so "friends only" is not really a good option. Our current workaround is to have a separate club-specific account that is set as the owner that then has to have people add that as a friend. It's very fiddly and I feel unnecessary. 2 - Multiclass - this is a massive part of rallying and a feature that was in the original DiRT Rally. Not only is it a huge part of real rallying, but it allows us to craft experiences for our communities that means more people can take part in something they will enjoy. We used to be able to pick specific cars AND classes in the original DiRT Rally Leagues. DR 2.0 lost this functionality and it hasn't returned since. 3 - Inability to set a specific date - while we can set things to start in so many days then the specific time on those days, we could set specific dates in DiRT Rally 2.0 through the browser without having to work out how many days or hours we need to start the event in. 4 - No location mixing - another feature of the original DiRT Rally leagues. We could mix locations and create huge, varied events if we wanted to do something different. While there are an incredible amount of stages in the game, things will still get quite repetitive when running certain countries quite quickly. This was jettisoned after the original DiRT Rally leagues and hasn't been seen since. 5 - Can't select stage degradation per stage - in DiRT Rally 2.0 clubs, we could select the level of stage degradation per stage. This helped create a feeling of progressing through loops and the rally as a whole and keeping conditions somewhat dynamic. Right now we can only set a single setting for the whole event. 6 - Ability to create events through the browser - this was VERY useful in DiRT Rally and DiRT Rally 2.0. It is very fiddly to have to do it through the game itself, while we can only join and create clubs through the Racenet website. The whole thing is very fiddly. 7 - Ability to enforce camera types - in multiplayer lobbies, we can limit the cameras to "interior only", "no chase" or "allow all". Having this option in clubs would be fantastic for those looking to create something tailored to their desires. 8 - Ability to choose specific assists - rather than an overall "on" or "off" setting, being able to choose specific assists allowed in your events would also be very useful. 9 - Viewing the overall standings - this is... fiddly. The only way to view the overall standings after a specific stage is to go into the events overview, then the specific event and then click "overall standings" straight after a stage. You can't view the overall standings after a specific stage on the Racenet website or in the service area. In quick play and other single-player modes, the overall standings are displayed straight after the stage times. 10 - Ability to set specific days of an event - this could then open up people who have terminal damage to return on day 2/day 3/day 4 of an event. Right now you can quit a specific stage but only DNF that stage and carry on, whereas if you get terminal damage, your event is completely over. If you get terminal damage in the SP career or championships, you can come back on a later day. A specific option to allow rejoining on later stages or days would also be useful. I'm sure there's more I could add, but I think the general message is more options would be fantastic. Options are no bad thing when they can create an even more crafted, immersive experience. As a league admin, it's been frustrating to lose functionality since the release of DiRT Rally. Fingers crossed some of this can be taken onboard and implemented for this title.MajorHobble2 years agoSeasoned Novice5.5KViews127likes55CommentsFeature Request: Daily challenges
For many people, the daily / weekly / monthly challenges were the best feature of DR 2.0. I appreciate writing a new game in a new engine with a huge ton of new features is challenging, but I really think you've overlooked how popular daily challenges were. Implementing them here would keep your users coming back and make it more likely for future DLC and future games to be more successful. As soon as someone hits max difficulty or a difficulty ceiling in career, daily challenges are best way to keep people coming back for more. Why it's not covered by other features: moments: although moments are cool, you can repeat them many times. daily challenges were 1-shot, this is essential. multiplayer: finding and joining games is time-consuming and slow, in addition the field of competition is not very large, and there's a lot of random variation in skill of who happens to be online, you may or may not get any competition through an event in your particular skill bracket clubs: while clubs comes closest, finding and joining clubs is a huge amount of friction for players, especially those players we want to retain after they have enough of career. having daily challenges means almost everyone will enter, giving them extra competition and prestige over clubs events. the randomness in the daily challenges also ensures good diversity in car classes and locations which is not always well represented in clubs here is an example reddit post requesting daily challenges, although there have been multiple comments and other people requesting this feature online: https://www.reddit.com/r/EASPORTSWRC/comments/17no9sa/does_anybody_know_if_dailies_weeklies_and/ please consider implementing this! i understand if it has to come after bug fixes, but don't underestimate the value of your super keen, long term community, who really value daily challenges. this game is very good btw, lets make it amazing with the return of daily challenges!2.5KViews96likes14CommentsClubs - Various and important problems (for Esports competitions)
Clubs I think you are not looking at the clubs with the real importance they have in the game. It is through clubs that many players have fun and compete with their friends, but it is also through clubs that Esports organizations organize all their competitions. I'm talking about official entities such as the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation, which organizes the Portuguese National Championships and many more. It is extremely important to have the option for clubs to be private and to only be able to enter the club after approval from an administrator. This option already existed in Dirt Rally 2.0 and for competition organizers, it is extremely important. Extremely important! When a player goes to the main menu and returns to the club between stages, the car is repaired and the tires are new, is it possible to fix this? This is a serious problem that devitalizes any championship.. Players will exploit this to their advantage. Now with clubs having rallys that can last up to 24 stages, it would be good to be able to define the number of tire sets when we are setting the rally. Just 3 sets may not be enough if we want to do a more demanding rally in terms of number of kilometers. It would be nice if it were possible to create competitions that last just a few hours and not have a minimum of 1 day. Once again, from an esports point of view, sometimes we are interested in launching something "quickly" and not a rally where you have 1 whole day to do it. Is it possible to add the option to force the interior cameras like there was in Dirt Rally 2.0? Damage model: If we have a "Hardcore Damage" option, the damage should be really hardcore. No one has an accident at 200km/h and manages to continue the rally as if it were nothing. Will it be possible to make the damage more "aggressive" in future updates? It doesn't need to be something 100% real, but it should be more penalizing than what it is at the moment. I apologize for the long text, but these aspects are really important for the functioning and use of the game by the organizing entities. Keep up the good work and remember.. If in doubt, Flat Out!1.1KViews61likes9CommentsAdd triple monitor support with free Unreal Engine plugin
Please add triple monitor support via this free Unreal Engine plugin https://github.com/fracturedbyte/UE4-MultiViewRendering This is the same plugin that Assetto Corsa Competizione uses for triple monitor support as can be seen by the attached photo. No need to create this functionality from scratch and proven to work in a shipped Unreal Engine 4 game. This plugin should be able to be added to WRC with minimal tweaks. Here is how ACC handles triple monitor support in game. First enable triple screen in video options. Then enter any game mode and once you are in a vehicle pause the game and select view settings> triple & widescreen to setup triple monitor support (screenshot attached).2.9KViews56likes30CommentsEA SPORTS™ WRC - Version 1.2.0 Patch Notes

Allow for bigger and smaller sizes for the decals The minimum size in particular is too big, if I want to place a decal on the side of this wing, for an example, I can’t because the minimum size is too big, these limits seem very arbitrary and unnecessary. Increase the area of projection for decals Again, the limits of the decals projection seem arbitrary and unnecessary, if I want to add decals to other areas of that same wing I cant because the maximum the game will allow is here for the roof and here for the back, but if I spin the logo you can see that the game can project the decal on the wing as shown here and here, so you end up not being able to place a decal on the wing due to the limited projection area and limited size of the decals. Add the ability to mirror decals Most liveries are symmetrical from left to right, so the livery editor needs a tool to mirror one or all decals from one side of the car to the other, the lack of numeric values for the position, rotation, scale and skew of the decals makes it even harder to mirror a livery. Finer adjustment for position, rotation, scale and skew of the decals Specially for skew, since it adjusts on the d-pad, one quick press of the d-pad makes the decal skew way too much. Stamp decals / copy paste decals with modifications Add a way to press a button and have a decal, that I already chose a color and a size, rotation, skew, to be placed on the current location, and at the same time make a copy with the same color, size, rotation, skew, that can now be placed on another location (same behavior as stamping a layer on Forza games), or have a way to just copy and paste a decal with its modifications. Add the ability to group decals Add the ability to Group Decals so that they can be edited all as one, size, rotation, position etc. Save groups of decals Add the ability to save those groups of decals so that we can reuse those decal groups on other cars, or even share them so that other players in the community can use them on their liveries Share complete liveries With the ability to share decal groups the game could also have the ability to share entire liveries so that those who don’t want to create entire liveries can use ones already made by the community. Horizontal shift for projection on the front and rear bumper Add the ability to horizontally rotate the projection of decals on the front and rear bumpers to prevent the distortion of the decals like you can see here, a projection from the POV of the camera of this screenshot would fix the distortion of this decal. Material of decals Add the ability to change the material of the decal to the same options as the paint pattern (glossy, matte, metallic, carbon, etc.) MORE REAL LIFE SPONSORS LIKE "Pirelli, Castrol, Wrc etc" add more real life sponsors to the game!!!!!3.3KViews41likes40CommentsOpenXR support for upcoming VR mode
Hello VR fans... For those waiting for VR support to come to EASPORTS WRC, please can I encourage you upvote this suggestion to have OpenXR support rather than SteamVR (OpenVR) mode only. VR performance is often the number one complaint when being added to a 2D game after launch. Typically there is a performance hit running VR games in SteamVR mode. This is made worse if you are running a none native SteamVR headset e.g. Meta Quest (the most popular headsets used for PCVR currently) the Reverb G2 (the most popular Simmers VR headset) and Pimax headset and so on. The performance hit is usually in the range of about 10%.and sometimes more. Furthermore, games supporting OpenXR can make use of other performance enhancing tools such as the OpenXR toolkit to enable foveated rendering and other sharpening tools. From Unreal v4.27 onwards there even appears to be OpenXR plugin suppport, so from a game engine perspective this should be feasible. If iRacing can do this, so can can Codies 😁 Whilst working on VR mode, adding 'Quad Views' support for VR headsets that support eye tracking (Quest Pro, Pimax Crystal, Varjo Aero) would be the icing on the performance cake, but lets shoot for OpenXR support first. Thanks Ham.3.6KViews41likes17CommentsRequest for PS VR2 support for EA SPORTS WRC
I have high hopes for this new WRC game. I've been waiting for the release for a long time. You are sure to have the best rally game experience. And I imagine it would be an even better experience if this could be played on PSVR2. If possible, I would like to request support for PSVR2 as well. Please add humans and bring life to the game Let's look at the podium ceremony: - no humans: no driver, no co-driver, no spectators, no crew JUST a CAR Let's look at the garage: - no mechanic guys, no spectators (behind)the tent also you spectators view from outside), nobody JUST a CAR (Both camera is way too close, limited movement , which is not enough at all Also add audio effects to the - spectators - drones - helicopters) This is a rally game, not JUST a CAR should be in focus Rally is about a team work, rally has a spirit, a big family where spectators can be closer to their idols. Now the game is way too steril... And it's soon getting boring Please add one of the key component, the humans1.6KViews30likes20CommentsCodies/EA Thank you for WRC!
I just wanted to come on here and say thank you guys for the awesome game that is WRC. I can't believe I paid a little over $40 bucks for this game at launch and already amassed nearly 450 hours of pure rally fun which is more than any rally game to day in that span of time. I wasn't around to pre-order DR1 but I was able to for DR2.0 and was there for its launch. It was a bit rocky no doubt as am sure you guys remember but after time it grew to become the best rally game out there next to RBR. I know some would disagree but truly, while WRC has some kinks still to work out, it's still in a far better shape than DR2.0 was at launch and I couldn't be happier or more optimistic for its future. I love this game to death and really appreciate all the hard work that went into it. I will say, I hope you guys are able to get back on the bandwagon soon. The community has been eating itself alive lately and I find it worrying that some believe WRC Gen or DR2.0 are still better rally games. I think once you guys start getting some more patches out and those heavily requested features like VR and Triple Screens people will simmer down. I also think, if you guys really wanted to win over the community, you could announce that WRC won't be a yearly release but will include DLC with the new teams/cars we can purchase. Plus, I really want to drive on the new locations for WRC 2024 soon! (Poland & Lativa) I just know things are shaky right now and if you guys end up doing yearly releases, a lot of the community that has stood behind you will walk away (sadly, myself included). I am all for paying for DLC's to support the devwork and keep me coming back for years like I did with DR2.0 but I know myself and many others would be very much against yearly releases. Why if you guys wanted to win over a lot of people, especially those poor KT fans, doing DLC's over yearly titles would pay dividends in that regards. Anyways, the main thing is I just wanted to say thank you for everything and that I am really looking forward to you guys getting involved with the community again so things can settle down. I know the holidays took a lot of you away but because of that, negativity and doubt have been running rampant. We need you guys to come back and show these doubters who the best rally game devs are and to show all those who say WRC G or DR2.0 is better how wrong they are! Ha! I am just tired of the negativity whether in Steam forums or even the WRC Discord. It won't take much to right ship, I just hope its sooner than later fam! I believe in you guys <3 Thanks for your time and the amazing game too. Have a wonderful weekend! Take care EA/Codies!!!1.8KViews27likes18CommentsMud, puddles and life.
Hi. Stages need more mud and puddles. Everywhere is too perfect. Also the crowd is like a small local rally gathering rather than a WRC event. There no noise from them nor any atmosphere. Where's the wildlife running across the road? Where's the helicopters or drones? A game from 2006 had all these features.547Views26likes6Commentstyre grip/slip physics and snap loss/regain of grip
I feel like the tyre physics are still strange, although better than DR2.0, i think could still be massively improved. My feel is that the tyres are too 'peaky' in their grip. There is maybe too much overall grip but the way it drops off when you exceed a certain slip angle is just way too aggressive, especially at the rear (on RWD). It will often snap without any warning, and once you've broken traction, there is way too little grip, and the car will go into a very abrupt spin unless you are very quick on the correction. However, once you do start to correct, the car snaps back to full grip again very quickly. Especially in the older cars, these should be able to slide much more progressively and naturally than we are currently able. It may not be the case, but the feeling is very much like the (rear tyre) slip angle vs grip model has a very steep decline after the peak, so as soon as you are past this point, there is just way too little grip, and it is very sudden, and then conversely, when you correct and bring the rear slip angle back down, the grip shoots back up again, like the red line in the attached picture. It feels like underlying physics of the tyre model, like all cars have very peaky sticky tyres. I would like to see this addressed either with a more progressive tyre model regarding the transition between grip and sliding - especially for the older cars, it feels like they have completely unsuitable tyres on - or for the default set-ups to be changed so it feels much more natural out of the box. or since we're wishing for things, both!! If for example you compare the old escort on WRC with the RS1600 on Assetto Corsa, that thing is amazing fun on AC, it slides so naturally. Whereas it's so choppy and snappy in WRC it's just very difficult to be smooth once you go past the linear stage of tyre grip, and there's no warning when it's going to let go. H3 and grp B RWD are just very frustrating to drive because of how unrealistic and poorly they handle. I know they they are difficult to drive but not like this2.3KViews26likes16CommentsForced install of a kernel-level program on PC (Anticheat merged thread)
https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-wrc/wrc/news/ea-anticheat "EA anticheat is a kernel-mode anti-cheat and anti-tamper solution developed in-house at Electronic Arts." In normal person terms, kernel level means giving the game the right to do whatever it wants to do to your computer at any time, without requiring your confirmation or consent. This was not something that PC players agreed to on the games launch and should not be tolerated as an acceptable solution to some leaderboard issues that don't affect the core gameplay. EDIT: Original thread title was "Warning: PC players about to be forced to install a kernel-level program". The change has been made to reflect a bug reports thread now being part of this one.OTT29 months agoRising Scout7.4KViews25likes58CommentsFree Roam mode
I loved the DirtFish free roam area in Dirt Rally 2.0 and would like to see something like that implemented in WRC too. It was nice to have a game mode for testing different game settings, car setups, sim gear configurations... etc without any pressure of ticking clock or penalties. You could also practice different techniques, obstacles and surfaces in free roam, while being quite small area there was enough variation for a lot of sandboxing to do.2.8KViews24likes12CommentsAI Crashes, helicopters and drones
It would be great if they implemented crashes or engine failures or something like that in the game by the AI. Currently it seems that you compete against no one, but rather generated results where you do continuous time attacks. I think it would be a good idea or even necessary to give life to the stages. I still remember, how in the WRC Rally evolved for the PlayStation 2, it already had these characteristics. We're talking about a game from 2005! Even when you approached the public, they moved away, and when you approached an accident there was a marshall warning and people around the accident car. Also, we don't have any kind of crowd sound, no helicopters and drones, no flashes of cameras, nothing. I mean, implementing these things that give life to the stages is necessary, since we are already in 2023. I ask and even beg the developers to implement a rally atmosphere in the game.544Views20likes5Comments
