The Sims 1-2 Remasters (Thank you EA)
I'm happy that EA finally doing something about their retro titles that defined a generation. I visited the 2000s website you people created recently, feels like a awesome home I used to live there like decades ago which still welcomes me. Still remember my discs that I got as a promotion from PCGamer magazine, I did everything to ask my father to have him install on his IBM Thinkpad Windows XP laptop. God, that was awesome, having such power in my side felt like I can play anything on that laptop. Everyday after the college I used to play The Sims 1 with that AWESOME soundtrack. Windows 98/2000/XP was awesome. The Sims 1 was awesome. Y2K website is awesome I'm glad you folks re created it, there is even clicking sound when left click! The amount of good memories I got from Sims 1 are beyond limits in a good way. I even had the honour to play The Sims Medieval a few years later on Windows 7. Hope everything is going to be fine with the release soon and release on Steam and GOG. I doubt original devs still at the Maxis but still great to know EA have Maxis to remaster those awesome games. Don't change too much though, just make it work so we can play on Windows 10. Thank you and god bless, have it some time to Maxis so they can remaster properly! Hello everyone I have a question regarding The Sims. I have been playing the game since 2003, and since I have seen different townies in the game, like the BFFs, landgrabbs, and pancakes. they are new to me. Can someone give me the whole scenario of the game? What happen to the other townies in the first game? The very first one. I still have the collection. Just thought maybe someone in the Sim world would know, and enlighten me. Thank you.Sylverbleu6 days agoNewcomer38Views0likes1CommentCan I get The Sims Medieval Deluxe Edition on EA App?
I'm looking for a Deluxe Edition of Sims Medieval on the EA App but I can't understand if they sell base game only or it comes with all expansion packs. I tried to search for Deluxe Edition on EA website: Buy The Sims Medieval™ - Electronic Arts, like someone in a forum mentioned, but I can't find anything related to 'Deluxe' on the page, in fact it says 'Base Game'. I know that I can get Deluxe Pack from Origin App, but I have some problems with my bank and currency that Origin offers me to buy a game. Do EA stop selling Deluxe Edition in they new app or do I need to get base game first and then it would opt me to get deluxe edition next?62Views0likes1CommentSim can’t trade for Strangerville key card
My last save went wonky so I put my Sim’s 13 pieces of Strangerville evidence in her house and saved her and her lot to my library and then started a new save. I put the evidence in her new inventory and went to Strangerville but she couldn’t get evidence from the scientists or military personnel. The only option was to Talk About Strangerville. I could plant bugs so that’s how I got the last 2 pieces of evidence and compiled the dossier. But now I can’t do anything with it. I can’t trade it to the curio guy all options are grayed out and I can’t trade only talk about Strangerville. How do I complete this aspiration?Syxarp10 days agoSeasoned Veteran44Views0likes0CommentsSims Medieval - Alder Lake patch does nothing
I'd really love to play Sims Medieval again, I was sorely disappointed when my new laptop was unable to launch it at all - nothing happens at all when I click "play" in EA. I have tried the Alder Lake patch fix, but to no avail. Please let me know any other technical info that may be of use to anyone able to solve this issue. I heard the same problem of the Sims 3 has been fixed, wonderful! But when for the Sims Medieval? And here is a problem, the truth is I never played it since 12th gen CPU came out (was busy at fighting certain virus), and I didn't know this game has this problem, yet I recommended my friend to buy legit version on EA and try it, sadly he is using 13rd gen CPU (I use 14th gen CPU). So now, he is angry because the store page of the Sims Medieval doesn't warn potential buyers that this game has this problem, and now he can't refund it (I personally never refunded games on Origin and EA APP, I don't know rules and details), so, can I take it as formal organised fraud via internet platform virtual products? (currently registered by local police, no matter the result, all personal legal rights reserved) I have found some walkaround online, well, here is the result: 1. There is a patch that similar to the one of the Sims 3, I tried, not working. 2. There is a method that using only one CPU for EA APP, the Sims Medieval can launch up yet the performance of the Sims Medieval launched under this method runs poorly, uninterrupted lag (short-fast frozen) happened, worse than my old computer with 9th gen CPU. Plus, I somehow don't really trust those walkarounds, sounds like temporary plan. Please, if you want to reply anything big-mouth like "then why don't you play on your old computer", "buy a computer with 11th gen CPU", "why those workaround worked on others not you, so it's your problem", save your time, your mother carried you for nine months not for you speaking like this (sorry for this comment, I had enough on other certain platforms). For serious replies, thank you for your caring and waiting for your valuable answers, no matter you are a community volunteer or staff of EA. Thank you.Solved92Views0likes1CommentIt is the Sims that is turning 25 ... not just the Sims 4
I hate to be "that guy" that points this out but it seems the celebration of turning 25 focuses entirely on the Sims 4. At least all the promo material it sure looks like EA is just focusing on the current game. But really for those of us that have been around from the beginning (all 25 years of it) I think we should see more representations of neighborhoods from the Sims, Sims 2 and Sims 3. More of a real multiverse effect. I realize they aren't actually selling those games anymore so from EA's point of view it probably doesn't make a financial sense to waste energy looking that far back. But that's a big part of nostalgia.FlamingoKicker12 days agoNew Ace124Views1like6CommentsSims Stories On EA App
Hi, I have disc copies for the three Sims Stories games - Life Stories, Pet Stories and Castaway Stories. I want to install these games and play them again but my laptop does not have a disc drive. Is there a way I can get digital versions of these games added to my EA App account so I can download them and play straight from my library? I attached a picture as proof that I own physical copies of the games. ThanksSolved116Views0likes1CommentLost box and product key to the sims medieval

Critically; severely; seriously, I and we greatly demand no pay to win in Project Rene, The Sims 5, and sequel, assuredly. Pay to win business is devastating video game. On January 7th, 2025 2pm I was playing a physical copy of the MySims game from MySims Cozy Bundle on Nintendo Switch, and I noticed that music from DJ Candy's boombox during dance battles would cut out after a few seconds. This happened consistently even in different dance battle locations and after restarting the game. Please fix! I want to dance!97Views0likes0CommentsHair changing back after changing sim
Whenever I have a Sim and age them up, I like to change their entire look: hair, clothes, etc. But I have an issue when I change my Sims hair in CAS, the old hair will pop back on in their work outfits, when they're in the nude, or when they're in hospital gowns (I know I can change the work outfit with the cheat). And I don't know if that's an overlooked problem or an unknown problem. I know I can't be the only one to find this annoying, but I seem to be the only one mentioning it on here. Any recognition on this would be amazing to know I'm not going crazy over here.99Views0likes0CommentsThe Sims 2 Ultimate Collection Uninstalled Itself
Hey i have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on the ea app that i got from origin years ago since i had the sims 2 on disc before but couldn't get it to run so support gave me Ultimate Collection when i asked for help. Using the fixes in these videos, I got it to run beautifully on windows 10; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFBC4KY3fbY , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP-KckVVjOg&t=9s , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4BNcHyRrwc&t=14s . Just in case anyone wants help with getting the Sims 2 to work on Windows 10. It was working fine for days, but then one day I loaded up my PC and the Sims 2 icon was missing from my desktop, the game wasnt showing up when i searched for it and according to Ea i didnt have it installed anymore. I checked my documents/ea games and checked program files/ea games and everything was still installed. The actual install had not been uninstalled, just the icon which made my PC and origin believe it was no longer installed. I still have no clue what could have caused this. I tried "installing" it again on the ea app but it kept getting to 99% immediately (since all the files were still installed and it recognize that) and then saying it didnt have permission and pausing the download. I then shut down and restarted the PC, tried again, same result. I even tried screwing with the permissions on the files and the ea app, nothing. I also downloaded a steam game to confirm I could download other games to my :C drive still. I was on the verge of tears, because the Sims 2 I had fought so hard to be able to play on my custom built Windows 10 Gaming PC, had seemingly been stolen from me for good. Finally, as a last resort I got the idea to do a system restore to an auto restore point that windows made the day before, when the Sims 2 was installed and working correctly. After restoring, I tried installed the Sims 2 again, it immediately worked and my game was restored with all my data intact, using the same files that were never deleted. Though I did have to redo SOME of the fixes from the videos I linked because some of them were done through the actual icon/app itself and some were about editing the graphicsrules.sgr file which got reset upon me attempting to restart the game when it finally "downloaded" again, as if I didn't clearly have it installed still. My point here is that this was an incredibly terrifying experience and now I can't restart my PC without fearing my beloved Sims 2 will have been taken from me again, and perhaps this time I won't be lucky enough to fix the glitch and restore the icon. Literal definition of "new fear unlocked." So if anyone has any idea on what the hell happened here and what I can do, if anything, to prevent this from happening again, or if EA could perhaps ensure this doesn't happen again in the next EA app update, and not just to Sims 2 but all Sims games as I saw some articles on here talking about Sims 4 apparently uninstalling itself for someone else. Would love to hear anyone's educated guesses on what exactly happened and what exactly can be done to ensure this doesn't happen again. I dont want to hold my breath everytime I load up my desktop.Solved163Views0likes2CommentsSuggestions For Future Retro Rereleases
Hello, Dylan H., here. I've recently purchased MySims (2007) on PC, and I'm having a blast. I plan to purchase the cozy bundle soon after I save up a bunch. It's exciting to see EA and Maxis embrace the retro Simming community and port over legacy titles to new platforms. I work in retail and physical copies of the Cozy Bundle are already sold out at my store, and the Cozy Bundle has been one of the top 30 sellers on the Nintendo Eshop for weeks now, and I hope this signals EA and Maxis to take the plunge into porting more legacy content to not only the Switch, but also PC and other platforms as well. The Sims series is vast, with spinoffs of spinoffs of spinoffs, and the Sims itself is a spinoff of SimCity, too! Many of these ventures took liberties and risks with the core Sims formula and it's an era that sadly has been lost to time as consoles and handhelds have finally caught up to PC in terms of capabilities. What I'm getting at, is why not look into the weird, the wacky, the more obscure ports and releases in the series? MySims getting rereleased came out of NOWHERE and it was a thrill to see that pillar of the Sims, not only get acknowledged, but manifested into a duology of two really solid ports on a platform that makes perfect sense. From the release of the original "The Sims" on PC in 2000, EA was already interested in creating curated, custom experiences for consoles with "The Urbz" entering development first, and ultimately snowballing into a slew of Sims releases on console, at least one per year on all of the leading platforms from "The Sims" all the way through "The Sims: Bustin Out" and "The Urbz", all the way to The Sims 2 generation with "The Sims 2" (which began development as "The Urbz 2" before transitioning to a version of "The Sims 2" and ending its run with "The Sims 2 Castaways"... But the console versions are only the BEGINNING of the Rabbit Hole... The handheld versions is where it REALLY gets crazy... These games changed so much of the core Sims gameplay while still having that trademark wit and spirit and ultimately becoming their own weird, wacky thing. The Griptonite Games Trilogy spanning from "Bustin Out" on GBA, all the way to "The Sims 2" on GBA, DS, and PSP are a GOLDMINE of wackiness and crazy and are so totally unhinged... These games are so very special to so many people, across console, handheld and PC, and I feel that bringing back not only the PC versions of "The Sims" and "The Sims 2" but also the console and handheld editions as well, either through the source code or through emulated ports, would not only be successful, but would be a BOON to games preservation, and would save a bunch of these weird, wacky and experimental games from rot and overinflated resale prices. Heck, bringing "The Sims Complete Collection" and "The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection" back to PC via EA App, Steam or even GOG would be sufficient and would make so many people happy, but going that extra mile, bringing back the various console and handheld editions of the past to modern platforms, as untouched as humanly possible, would bring the nostalgia so ROCK HARD, oh my goodness! In essence, bringing back MySims... The floodgates have been opened, PLEASE take advantage of this opportunity, and bring back as many of these classic PC games, console editions and handheld variants as possible, to as many platforms as possible, in a humanly reasonable time frame for your developers (don't overexert yourselves, maybe focus on bringing back games at a steady rate to manage those resources just right) I don't care if it's a drip feed of singular games or bundles, if we at least get something brought back every year or so, I'll be happy... Don't know about everyone else. Game Development is hard. Working with source code and rom/disc image files from decades ago is MUCH harder. What I'm trying to say is, the old stuff is great! There's no way to give you money for the old stuff anymore. Please bring back the old stuff so we can give you money! Everyone is happy. Any day I don't have to go online to pay exorbantly high prices for a game that was 30-40 dollars at launch is a good day for me. The secondhand market is a nightmare - we need more of these rereleases because gaming history is important, these games shaped childhoods - they shaped lives, even. Some creators wouldn't be where they are today without these games. Please don't stop at MySims - bring back more legacy content. ESPECIALLY bring back the PC versions of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 with all of their expansions included - the fact those aren't on GOG already is a CRIME TO HUMANITY. Please, we want to give you money for these games! Let us give you money for these games! And don't be afraid to bring back the WEIRD stuff. SimAnimals and SimCity Creator - I almost forgot to mention those, the Wii versions of those are the definitive versions, bring those back too! (Some of the videos I've seen of SimAnimals - The video on Scott The Woz's "Scott's Stash" channel was hysterical... If you know, you know. I would also look at Youtube videos of all of the games I mentioned - there are full retrospective videos on the Console and Portable versions of The Sims and MySims that ROCK, and I imagine some might have influenced the decision to bring back MySims. There are so many people who grew up and are fond of the DS version of The Sims 2 - I grew up with the DS version of MySims, why not bring that back too? There are so many collections on Switch that feature DS games, its weird dual screen form factor be darned, there is a way to bring back DS games to systems with only one screen, so there's no excuse - Bring 'em back! We want the retro! We even want the WEIRD and retro! You bring back MySims? Floodgates are now open - Take advantage of it for crying out loud! Made it this far? Great! Ciao for now! - DylanVirtuaroidPilot25 days agoSeasoned Newcomer65Views3likes1CommentIs project rene a mobile game?
Will all the profits made from micro transactions from the mobile game be used to improve sims 4? For example being able to actually handle a 4 floor 64x64 lot without lagging out so much it’s unplayable….. … being able to actually play and use the packs which are broken and glitchy like high school , dine out , for rent etc. …. I’ve stopped buying packs cause what’s the point if it’s broken…? Will you be able to build houses exactly like you can in sims 4 or will it just be a basic house maker like My Sims? What similarities will it have from sims 4 or would it just be focused on being multiplayer which literally no one asked for …? The gallery is all the multiplayer experience we need …. if I wanted to play online with my friends or other people I would play cod? Is this just a kids game aimed at a completely different audience than the average sims player? Like a club penguin/franktown rocks/ habbo hotel/ roblox/ moshi monsters kind of game? What would the usp even be if you couldn’t even fully customise your own house ? which is the 1 thing sims does best…. I thought Roblox already had monopoly over that side of the gaming industry? Since roblox is the only remaining game of that genre… they already have too much choice for different gameplay …. Is it just going to be exactly like the sims mobile with worse graphics and multiplayer…? Would you even be able to drive in the game ? And move your player around like in Roblox ? (Still not a usp btw) If your target audience is Roblox users what about it would be better?61Views0likes0Comments
