Apex account banned for no reason after launching on Steam for first time

I have not touched Apex for months, maybe even a year. I tried to log in today to play with some friends that love the game and a new mode came out so I decided what the hell, might as well give it a try. To my surprise, I was banned.

Under my accounts ban history, I see nothing so im a little confused. I've never hacked, account shared or done anything against  TOS.

I've emailed @ea about this, requesting help for being mistakenly banned but got nothing back yet. Hoping to maybe get some answers over here, has this happened to anyone else beore?

    The account ban history on the website shows specific account actions, but won't show every type of ban or suspension, sorry for the confusion there.

    If you're just getting back to the game after some time away to find the account's been banned, I'd definitely take a few minutes to go through these security steps and make sure the account's been secured. 

    One concern there would be that someone else potentially gained access to the account, so that will help make sure you're the only one in the account before our Terms of Service team reviews this. 

    After that point it's just a matter of submitting an appeal so they can review the ban itself. There's a bit more information about that in the link below, but as you mentioned you've already created a case you'll just need to wait for them to investigate at this point. They should reach back out via email as soon as that's finished.

  • @EA_Mako Thank you for the response, ive taken the proper action to secure my account before submitting the ban appeal, as you mentioned. Ill patiently wait for a response from the team 🙂
  • Did you ever get an answer? I had the same thing happen. I don't even think my account was hacked, but I changed passwords in case. I submitted an appeal, but knowing how God awful EA is to its customers, I am not feeling hopeful.

    Hey @dontditchmedan, if you've already submitted that appeal, you will absolutely receive an answer from the ToS team.

    Please keep an eye out on your email as that's how they'll reach back out once their investigation is complete. Thanks for the patience!
  • I recently went to play when my friends asked me to, I only played it a couple times on release to try. I was also banned and appear to have had no activity on my account (it has like 10 kills and 20  deaths). There was no record of any ban when I looked it up. I sent a request and I have already received a response from the ToS team surprisingly quickly given what others have said on here.

    To my shock they said they were right to ban me, gave no details and referred me to the terms of service. How is this fair treatment? So disappointed with EA and it sucks to be powerless and punished for no wrong doing.

    What are the next steps? I tried to reply but feel with how straightforward of a response I got that it will fall on deaf ears.

  • I got the same problem with you guys, feel hopeless. Hoping will get EA response and help very soon.

  • I wouldn’t count on it. I have 6000 hours plus on the game and spent upwards of $3500 easily. I was banned for no reason and when I ask them to give me the reason I was banned, because I am 100% sure I didn’t break the ToS, they email saying they took the correct actions and will not discuss “internal procedures”. I care nothing about internal procedures only about this bogus ban I received especially after I supported this game(even after prestige skins…) After two full investigation, I find it hard to believe the advisors can’t say this is what I banned you for.

    Same * happened to me. EA has the worst customer experience 

  • had the same problem, havent touched the game for more than a year, the last time i played was when it was available in steam, yesterday i tried playing again, then all of a sudden, im banned. tried to report it twice, but all they say is

    "After thoroughly investigating your account and concern, we again found that we actioned your account correctly after it was found to have violated our User Agreement. We will also be unable to provide any details regarding our internal procedures.

    Due to this violation, we will not remove the sanction that was applied to your account."

    Kinda hopeless, EA CUstomer support is bad, really bad
