Its been almost 3 months and still no fix

I'm also having the same problem. At first, I contacted EA and heard about it, but they were told that Steam payments could not be resolved. So I contacted Steam, but I was told to contact EA first, so I am waiting for another reply. In the end, it can't be solved and it's spinning round and round. Tried turning off the VPN, uninstalling the game, and reinstalling it, but the result was the same. Since I was using EA play through Steam, I had to purchase without a discount to proceed with payment through Origin again ☹️
P.s. I tried to check the Steam payment among the answers left, but it is normally connected to my country....I want to buy a Watson skin set...

the only way around this i found. you can download origins buy the coins there and start the game through the origin launcher. that is the only thing that worked for me..... really annoying having two apex installed tbh.....
Fixed it for me
In Steam Library> Apex right click> manage > Browse local files >
Right click r5apex.exe and run as admin
Steam overlay is still run
I guessed its just something not being secure enough as since the game has anti cheat
Im sure one place devs want it really locked down is the place where their income/most affect is

whenever i try to buy apex coins it says unavailable in grey and doesn't let me buy anything

Sometimes that can point to an issue with the location settings on your account. Have you double-checked to make sure your account is set to the correct region?
