Apex Legends, Network Lag, Unplayable, Rubberbanding, Need Help!

Hi all

So I have been playing apex legends for around 1.5 years and have about 400 hours in the game, throughout that entire time I have never had any issues with internet connection to the game, I am based in Perth, Australia so the closest server to me is Sydney which normally would work fine except I play on Singapore servers for ranked because of the low numbers in Sydney. Playing on the Singapore server is obviously slightly more lag than the Sydney which I normally get about 60-90ms in Sydney and 60-100ms in Singapore which is fine.

So recently, about 2 weeks ago I have noticed I cannot join any games as I get kicked for server timeout or connection interrupted. When the game boots it sometimes has all the servers at 1000-3000ms with high latency. When the servers show that it is the 'normal' connection of 60-100ms I try to play a game with my friend but cannot play due to rubberbanding, unable to move, constant lag and so forth.

To clarify, I have been to the troubleshooting pages that EA lists but none have seemed to do anything, except improve it slighter here and there, I have changed my DNS, flushed my DNS, change adapter settings, change everything to administrator and everything in between and nothing has solved my issue. I don't believe it is my internet as I have played the game absolutely fine for the last 6 months and only recently it has died

If anyone has anything that could help I would really appreciate it

I am also uploading my UOTrace results in a file also

  • @vagtasticplastac Okay so I have 2 options for connecting to my internet, a 2.4ghz option and the 5ghz option. For the past 6 months I have been using the 5ghz fine without problem but it is only now after the 3-4 weeks that it screws up and the 2.4ghz one works completely fine with no rubberbanding, albeit slightly lag but definetaly playable... What is the reasoning behind this?

i also have the same problem with you, my ping is always under 40 and its rare to go beyond that, but when playing its always lagging and always get disconnected from the game, my cases is this happen after the recent Season 5 Update, before this Update i dont have this problem, i'm trying with flushdns method before, and it work but just for one day and the problem happened again.

  • Okay so since I was so confused as to what caused this issue for months, repeatedly on and off, I feel totally obligated to share the actual cause of the ping suddenly spiking to 300-3000ms when connecting to Sing 1: there was a cable that most internet providers used to connect to SEA and it snapped, so they have to send a boat out to fix it. The fix is coming in July. If this happens again, that's probably what caused it. You can check this on your ISP's support page too. Hope that saves someone else some time in the future
