Lost account after Cross Progression.

This happened around 2023. I had an Apex account on PS4 and when I tried to use cross progression, instead of transfering all my stuff from PlayStation to PC, it just merged the accounts and deleted all the progress from the EA account that was on my PS4. The only things that merged were two skin bundles which now I have on my PC account (Mirage Edition and Octane Edition). I've been playing for a few years on PC after that, and this account got even better than the one I had back then on PS4, but to think that I had a heirloom, lots of skins, thousands of hours and lots of money spent on it just for it to be gone, it just makes me so pissed.

I tried speaking to player support but they said that they can't help me, so im trying to reach any developer out there that can do something about it.

Thank you.

    Hey xoRyuzu

To clarify what caused this, progress is stored on the EA account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc. This means if you link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress and it will appear to have reset. Progress cannot be moved between different accounts.

What happened here was that you moved your PSN account from one EA account to this one. The progress you'd made while playing on PlayStation previously would have been left behind on your previous EA account when you had moved the PSN here. This means if you're trying to restore any progress, you'd need to re-link your PSN account to the prior EA account.

Note that will also mean you'd lose access to whatever's on the current EA account. Unfortunately there's not a way to combine progress that's on two different EA accounts, so you'd have to make a choice which to keep, or just keep the platforms separate.

We are not able to make any changes to your account status or progress via the forums, but if something was linked or unlinked incorrectly it may be worth contacting support to see if the original platform can be re-linked.

The thing is, the Octane Edition and Mirage Edition bundles merged to my new account, and when I tried to link my first EA account back to PSN, it was completely empty, no progress, no cosmetics, just like a new one.

Starter bundles are tracked a bit differently than anything you'd be getting in-game so they may show up in these situations even if your overall progress did not.

To be clear, you're not linking your EA account to specific platforms. You're linking various platforms to a single EA account. You can check the connected platforms here.

The EA account you're posting with is not the EA account where your progress was originally earned when you were on PlayStation, even though your PSN account has been linked here (back in 2023). You've already tried moving this same PSN account back to the previous EA account since encountering this? And then moved it back here again? Is that right?

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying. I just wanted to be sure that had been tried since the PSN account is still linked to this current EA account. Moving your PSN account from this EA account back to its original EA account would be the only way to try recovering any progress that was lost with the initial unlink.

Unfortunately if moving your PSN back to its original EA account did not give you access back to the content while on that first EA account, that content would be lost due to that unlink process. That can sometimes be recovered by relinking, but if that wasn't the case here, I'm sorry to say it would be permanently gone.

Alright, thank you for your time Mako. I will try to do it in 3 days because that's when It says I'll be able to unlink it. If that doesn't work it would be really unfortunate, but we'll see...

Sorry xoRyuzu, did you not say you'd already tried that previously? I wouldn't want you to go through that unlink process again if you've done it in the past.

Your PSN essentially started linked to a different EA account, then it was moved to this one back in 2023. If you've already linked it back to the original EA account, checked that nothing was restored, and then moved it back from that original account to this one again, there wouldn't be much point to another unlink.

If you haven't yet moved it back to that original EA account to check, that would be worth trying. Definitely feel free to resume a case with the support team if you run into trouble with that linking process specifically.

Yes, my bad, I got a lil confused. Let me rewind a bit. After linking the PSN account to my PC EA account, the EA account that was on my PlayStation was basically erased, but I never tried to unlink it and link it back again. So I will try to unlink PSN from my current PC account and will try to link it back to the old EA account which was on PlayStation. I guess the account still has to exist because it showed up in Apex Tracker after I searched it. Maybe i'll get lucky. Sorry for the confusion, hope It's clearer now.

No problem, just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be a complete waste of your time to try going through that again.

If you haven't yet linked it back to the old EA account, there's absolutely a possibility that you'll be able to access the previous content there when your PSN account is re-linked. That's not always possible, but since you haven't linked back to that specific account since this initially happened, it would be worth a shot for sure.

However, keep in mind that would leave you with two separate EA accounts with separate progress - these, unfortunately, cannot be merged. Once you remove the PSN from the current EA account that has the progress you've been making on PC, you won't be able to access that PC progress with your PSN account. That would just be a matter of checking what's visible on each EA account to see if you'd prefer one or the other, or just to keep them both separate.

I wont lose anything on the current PC EA account if I unlink the PSN, right?
