Sorry to hear that you are having issues @JackOfTales, can you grab a DxDiag and share it: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/
Are you seeing issues with any other games?
Darko
@EA_Darko There is a major FPS and stutter bug affecting people. Although that CPU is defiantly weak, I believe the issue is much bigger.
I feel that at this point in time, the problem seem so random that the technical support only works 1% of the time.
I have done over 100 hours of testing and it's completely random what performance or stuttering issues are resent. For example since the server crash yesterday, I have been unable t go into True screen and there is lots on input lag on my mouse because it is forcing borderless windowed(while looking liike full screen) because of some strange FSO settings.
Here's the dxdiag. And no, I don't have these issues with other games.
- Since you have a laptop you need to set all in your power management to high performance.. Battery management, Nvidia control panel etc.. Some intel cpu have turbo boost (i have and I'm on desktop I'm sure you have it enabled).. Can you try and see if your cpu is bottlenecking at 2.5ghz and not turbo boosting to 3.5ghz?.. I wouldnt recommend overheating your laptop by overclocking or whatever.. It's too much heat and most laptops dont have adequate cooling for that small package
Already have the relevant settings in Nvidia Control Panel set to high performance. A lot of people were saying the game was using integrated graphics instead of their dedicated card, so that was the first thing I checked. And yes, my turbo boost comes on automatically. In fact, I'm still hitting 100% cpu most of the time.
Also having this issue, I have two desktops, one has a GTX 960 4gb the other has a 1050ti, both near identical cards. The rig with the 960 runs buttery smooth 1080p barely any lag, yet with the 1050ti rig runs terrible, as little as 20fps in the drop in sequence, and that’s everything on its lowest, even 720p. Already made all the checks to make sure it’s using the dedicated gpu, max performance settings etc, no use. Don’t understand how cards so similar have such different performance in apex. And yes, every other game on the 1050ti rig runs fine
- Nvidia is famous for the issue of certain drivers being slow and others faster.. I mean in certain cases older drivers give the gpu a fps boost.. I read alot of post here of people recomminding 417.. For me the most stable i've seen is 399.24.. But yeah i dont want to waste your time.. It takes some effort to try a older driver install/uninstall and maybe it doesnt work
- I also heard you cannot disable intel hd on a laptop and that there is a weird thing where the gpu will only be used when it's needed so it's actually using both intel and nvidia gpu.. Oh well unless you got some serious 2k gaming laptop not really recommend for playing fps
I’d maybe understand drivers being the problem if other games were sluggish but again, it’s literally just apex. Not talking just slight frame drops either, the game is borderline unplayable, 960 and 1050ti cards are so similar that it’s baffling that this is even an issue but it means that I can’t fully migrate to using the 1050ti as its performance in apex isn’t acceptable
experiencing same thing with GTX 1060 and i5-8300H
