I have the same exact problem. I am on a Windows 7 machine, and I run the game out of Origin. After the update on Wednesday 27.7.2022, I got a message saying "Your Windows 7 system is too outdated. Please install KB4534310". I did that and now I can launch the game. It doesn't crash me out, but when I move the mouse it causes the game to stutter, or pause. Even in the loading screen and front lobby. Matter of fact, I can move my mouse fast in a circle and get the game to pause or "lock up" as long as I'm moving the mouse. Once I stop moving the mouse, it unpauses and goes back to normal. The keyboard doesn't cause any problems for me. I'm using a Logitech G502 mouse.
- @Ekkssray i'm having same problem always on windows 7, operated like Ekkssray did... Just for curiosity, your problem didn't solve lowering the polling rate of mouse and keyboard right?
@2307mia I haven't done anything to lower the polling rate of my mouse or keyboard. I could try that I guess. In Apex, I'm currently running the mouse at 400 dpi with a polling rate of 1000.
@2307mia So, I just now tried different polling rates for my mouse. My original polling rate that I've been playing Apex with successfully for 3 years has been 1000/second. But after the update on Wed July 27 was when I've seen the problem I described above. I just tried decreasing the mouse polling rate to 500/second. I noticed a sizable improvement in the stuttering. It was still there, but less pronounced. I then tried decreasing the mouse polling rate even further to 250/second, and I hardly notice any stuttering at all. I've only played in the Firing Range, so I need to play in some real matches to try out the 250/second polling rate to see what my mileage is like.
But I'm curious what in the update could be impacted by a high polling rate. Especially where I was able to have it set high (1000), and now need to have it set much lower. My understanding is that a high polling rate is better. I shouldn't have to nerf my polling rate just to be able to play.@EA_Kent , tagging you as well, for your information.
Okay, so I've been playing matches for the last 45 minutes or so, and I still get mouse stuttering at a polling rate of 250/second. It definitely is no where near as bad, but still is noticeable and affects gameplay. It affected some of my firefights. The lowest that the Logitech Gaming software will let me go is 125/second. I'll try that for a bit.
This still stinks though, and is no where near a solution.
Moved my polling rate from 250/second down to 125/second. Didn't seem to make much difference from the 250 setting. It is much better than when it was set to 1000/second, but still get stutters every few seconds, and affects gameplay.
Hi,
Found this post via google but having the exact same issue here too also my friend has the same problem as myself. We have given up playing the game for now until a fix can be found.
Been playing Apex since launch and not really had any issues until the past weke or so after some sort of update.
As soon as the game launches if you try moving you mouse the game freezes until the mouse movement stops, this even happens in the menu before actually dropping into a game.
Friend also has the exact same problem, different specs (laptop where as I am on a desktop) however we are both running Windows 7.
Tried Clean booy - Same issue so the issue seems to be related to Apex this only happens in Apex not any other games. Reducing polling rate in Logitech settings helps but does not fully resolve the issue however we have both been using the 1000ms polling rate for years without problem.

Hey everyone,
It looks like the common factor in all these is Windows 7.
Did you all just start seeing this happening after the recent updates?
@EA_Kent My friend is on Windows 7 and has the exact same issue. I haven't performed any window updates since the issue started, but assuming Apex has updated within the past few weeks when we started to experience the issue.
Found this thread while searching for a solution. I also have the exact same issue at 1000hz polling rate on logitech wireless g303 and windows 7. I get mouse stutters along with the game freezing and frame rate will drop significantly while moving the mouse. The band-aid fix I have for myself at the moment is to lower it to 500hz (which feels awful) but the game will still periodically stutter with no user input. Everything was working fine up until the July 28th update that added the hyperion anti cheat.
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC/origin client
AMD or Nvidia Model Number rtx 2060
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16GB
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Where did the issue occur? In a match/at the ready up menu/immediately at the game launch click to continue screen
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 28/7/2022 (the update that introduced hyperion)
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? Periodic stuttering with no user input; also massive stuttering/performance drop while moving mouse
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? This happens on windows 7. I've also heard that it happens on any Windows version before 1809.- @EA_Kent, last time I played before this update was at the beginning of season 11, during season 10 everything worked perfectly fine. When season 11 had started, tiny lags appeared (like main menu lagging for 3-5sec after launching the game, first 2-3sec lags when beginning a new match), but I'm not sure if it related to this problem or its just the game became harder to handle for my pc
@EA_Kent I too have Windows 7. This stuttering issue (when I move my mouse) started to occur for me on July 27. I play through Origin and the game auto-updated for me on July 27. I hadn't played for a day or two before that, so not sure exactly which update that was. Whichever one that came out on July 25 or 26. Prior to that, I had not seen this issue during the 3 years that I've been playing prior to that (on the same PC). When the update occurred, I did get the "your windows 7 is outdated. You need to update KB..." message. I did update to that KB.

Thanks for the updates, everyone.
Has anyone else tried lowering their mouse polling rate to see if you notice a difference? I know it's not ideal, but I am curious if that is a consistent way to mitigate the issue.
@EA_KentLowering the polling rate helps but does not resolve the problem - I lowered it to 200 which helps a fair bit but it still remains unplayable as the screen still freezes when moving in fast action.
- @EA_Kent @Toilet-Ducky Lowering does mitigate the issue to an extent, like ducky said and I have experienced myself it doesn't fix the stuttering. Theres still periodic stuttering happening it just starts to feel less severe at lower polling rates. Low polling rates feels awful and having to lower it to play and increase it back again when you're finished playing is just counterintuitive. I hope this is on the devs radar to fix because it isnt posted on the apex bug tracker on trello. I suspect this has something to do with hyperion including in the july 28th update.
- @EA_Kent, I've tried doing that as well, but as said by 2 people before, it still is unplayable

I am experiencing the same issues as noted in my thread in the bug report section: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Extreme-stuttering-from-mouse-movement/m-p/11691081#M87885
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5M0M3SLWPE - @EA_Kent, so what's about this problem? Can it be solved or are we just not able to play the game at this point?
Have the same issues as before with the new seasons that got introduced with the hyperion anticheat and after force update of KB4534310, every some 20 sec the game do a short freeze.
Have a RTX3070 and gets well over 100 fps, played every season since one with not much problems and smooth.
Do run a on a trimmed down win 7 ultimate. I do notice a very rather bad cpu usage, but the game is smooth between those short freezes.
I hope you will get this fixed, I do love a good anticheat but not of the cost of making the game unplayable. I have tried the suggestion found in many other threads since hyperion and then some. I have my roots in software but as it stands now this is unfortunately nothing that I can fix, this
I think in the current economy you will not force that many onto win10,and the game is not that hard on hardware, I would love to continue to support the game and have played spread out of every season expect last part of season 13 due to the introduced problem after the 27/7 patch.

I have the exact same issue. My game worked fine until the update on July 27, 2022. I've been using a 1000HZ polling rate since the game came out and never had any issues, decreasing the polling rate to 125HZ somewhat makes it bearable until you get into a gunfight, then it starts to stutter heavily again. This happens on both Origin and Steam since July 27.
Windows 7 Ultimate
Logitech G903 Hero
Logitech G HUB Software
@EA_KentIs there any update to this or is Windows 7 not longer available to play on Apex now?
Exact same problem... Game has become unplayable...
Menu is lagging like crazy when moving the mouse.
And inGame stuttering which I had never before. Impossible to win gun fights.
Changing the polling rate of the mouse from 1000 to 500 fixes the menu lag, but not the ingame stuttering.
I never had these problems before. Working fine since Season 1, but now it is broken...
Please fix it ! I am also invested with money and I don`t want to loose it !

Hey guys new player here. Started at Season 14. Anyway I noticed this issue recently on the most recent patch for me. My Logitech Superlight Pro X is set to 1000hz polling rate and ever since this Beast of Prey patch has come through I have come into this stuttering issue also.
The game is unplayable, I've switched USB ports, tried lowering polling rate, reinstalled, DDU'd GPU drivers, re-installed Logitech software drivers and I still have this stuttering issue. What's funny is if I use my controller Xbox Elite Controller there's no issues at all.
What's weird is I have no issues with any other games using my mouse except Apex the last week. I've played MW2 Beta without issues and some other FPS titles.
