Smarter way to deal with short disconnects

I have experienced many times short disconnects either because of my network or the connection to your servers. Sometimes I have been just merrily looting 15 minutes with a full squad in a safe place and suddenly without any warning it is game over and I get slapped by 10 minute penalty and abandon penalty to my ranked score. I think that it is bad for players just to kick players out from the match when short disconnects happens. Why not implement some smarter way to handle them? My legend can stand still as far as I care, but I would like to play the game to the end. If you are worried about statistics, don't reward people form downing disconnected legends. If you think that the players are worried about their statistics, give them option to choose what happens when server detects connection problems. You are the professionals here and probably can come up with a good system.

Is there anything I can do from my part to avoid getting disconnects?

I moved this over to the technical issues board.

I know it's rough to get hit with a leaver penalty due to a disconnection. We should try going through some steps to see if we can help prevent more disconnections like this from happening to you again in the future.

The best place to start would be with the basic connection troubleshooting steps over at the EA Help website. If you're still seeing any sort of connection issues after that I'd recommend checking out the platform-specific steps as well:

- PC

- Xbox One

- PlayStation 4

@EA_Kent Did some of the steps and got a disconnect again when starting the match. I got again -48 RP even before dropping in.

I will do the rest of the steps and let you know if they have worked. I have a feeling that it has to do something with my Internet provider which brings me to the first point - disconnects could be handled in a better way - especially before even having a chance to select a legend.

I understand where you're coming from. We've been passing along the feedback we've been seeing on the changes this season.

No. None of those things seem to work. In addition, yesterday and today the game crashed on first legend selection. Again the result for me is -48 ranking points when the game crashes and 10 minute abandon penalty. It seems to be that it is totally pointless for me even to play ranked in Apex.
