Hi all. I installed apex on my old pc for my son to play on. the game ran perfectly fine 144-90 fps on medium settings.
today i bought him a 144hz gaming monitor.

What kind of monitor is that exactly? Adaptive sync can be useful when the fps are not stable and keep dropping below the frame rate, too.
I could type a lot of letters here, but just have a look here:
Nevertheless, it sounds strange that the game keeps stuttering for 1-2 seconds, so other causes could also come into question. Nevertheless, I would now first follow the approaches in the article before considering too much at once.
Basically, the FPS should not be undercut on a monitor with a fixed update rate, as this then leads to stuttering.
Another possibility would be to set the monitor to 90hz, for example, if the FPS in the game are on average around this value (if adaptive sync is undesirable for any reason).
- @Sick1Click Yes i already assumed the old gtx 1060 is just not up to the task... so i lowered the hz to all possible and tested it out. For some reason all other hz make the screen look blurry or like there is a wase over the screen.
I tryed differant resolutions with differant amount of hz...
Only the 1920x1080 with 60hz or 144hz is playable. 60hz is a little blurry but within limits.... yet this lowers the fps for some reason. 144hz is smooth as silk yet whenever the game gets a little intense or when i look over a cliff and the fps drops it starts to stutter..... - @Sick1Click Also the screen has nvidea g-sync logo on the front.... according to google there should be a g-sync option in nvidea control panel. But its not there.....
The most freesync/gsync monitors have an option in the screen menu to enable/disable vrr.

I do like to add that i find this ridiculous.
Before apex legends i was used to games that either worked or dident. Either the pc could handle it or it coulden't there was no need for tweaking and installing multiple programs in order to get a game working.
I say this because i tested several games
Dying light 144hz smooth no stutter
Gta 5 144hz smooth no stutter
Metro exodus 144hz no stutter
Apex legends 144hz stutters when fps drops or goes up.
Even tough i understand this has something to do with the new monitor i cant help say that i find it very strange that high graphic games work better then apex on low...
Why cant we just get the maps fully downloaded to you're own platform. That way the graphic quality would not be affected by your own connection to the server or the bad high ms server you are placed in......
Im not a game creator but cant someone look into this???
