Summary: Little Bird (Scout Helicopter) Balance Issues
Currently, the Little Bird is functioning far beyond its intended role of scouting and light infantry support, effectively becoming an all-purpose combat platform stronger than attack helicopters.
Problems
- Overwhelming Firepower: Against infantry, the TTK is far too fast, with area damage that allows it to dominate small-scale engagements single-handedly.
- Excessive Survivability: Flare cooldown is extremely short, neutralizing guided weapons. Flying at low altitude makes it nearly immune to RPGs and missiles, making it almost impossible to shoot down.
- Unbalanced Maneuverability: Its superior turning ability allows it to outmaneuver attack helicopters, jets, and anti-air vehicles.
- Role Breakdown: The scout helicopter is defeating attack helicopters, jets, and AA tanks—roles it should normally be weak against.
Proper Balance Should Be
- Effective against infantry, but clearly vulnerable to attack helicopters, jets, and AA vehicles.
- Flares should be a last-resort escape tool, with longer cooldowns and limited use.
- Maneuverability should favor scouting, not air superiority.
Suggested Fixes
- Increase flare cooldown significantly (2–3x current).
- Reduce anti-vehicle damage: Keep infantry suppression but weaken against attack helicopters, jets, and AA tanks.
- Adjust maneuverability: Reduce turn rate so it cannot dominate air combat.
- Strengthen altitude penalties: At low altitude, make it more vulnerable to RPGs and guided missiles.
Conclusion: The Little Bird has shifted from a “scout” role into an overpowered multi-role attack platform, severely damaging game balance. It is universally recognized by players as too strong and urgently needs a nerf.
