Just an addition for everyone who may come here for this issue:
If you are not using Windows 10 or 11, you can no longer use this EA App. They have optimised it only for 10/11 now. So if you can't (or don't want to) get 10 or 11, you now can no longer play any of the games you PAID for.
Got the same error installation. Everything was just fine a couple weeks ago, then some days ago EA launcher just didn't... launch... I thought it was becuase some bugged update, so I leave it for a couple of days to get fixed as I usually do, after that time, nothing, the launcher just didn't launch, no error messages, not nothing. So, I tried the repair step. It was worse as it apparently, uninstalled it instead! so I tried to installed it again, and it was when I got this inst-3-1920 error message just at the end of installation, of course didn't install a thing after that. After days of searching in forums, videos, etc, I noticed some more people got this issue since 2 years ago!
I got Win7, by preference, I also noticed the launcher it's recently not longer supported for W7, So I guess it may be the cause. However as a gamer playing 500 and some hours in the SIMS 4, I wonder, and also perhaps as a suggestion to EA people, why not to leave the laucher for us, old system users, as STEAM does, it warns that W7 it not supported, but at least still launches, or perhaps some EA standalone launcher , not updates or anything, just some bridge for play our old games, I mean, I understand games have to get updated or patched, mostyl the new ones, I get it, that's why in Steam I play old games those that don't update anymore, or just keeping from update, but at least I have a choice to play something, without this launcher I got not access to anything anymore.
