I’ve been getting the same pop up for over an hour, I’ve tried switching networks, going on data, restarting the app, doing “app Recovery” and none of it works. The funny thing is is that my internet is working for everything but this app :/
update: 24 hours later and still not able to login. Now the sign in page isnt even loading, it just says that an unresolveable issue has occured

@lexisimmer201 With that error, your actual internet connection has no real bearing, so your internet may be working fine but that isn't the issue. That error is a network error not a connection error.
See if this helps. I believe there is something blocking the EA App sign-in.- Check data/time are correct
- Change UAC Controls within Windows
- Reset Windows Host File
- Try a new user account
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
- Connection and Advance Connection Guides
- Untick the options in LAN Settings (make sure nothing is checked under Proxy Server)
- Change DNS settings (You can use the public Google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use

Hello,
So this issue appeared to resolve itself after 72 hours of it saying "login failed because the network could not do its network thing" - but I just went to login to update the sims with the latest patch and I'm getting the same error message. The last error message ALSO appeared in conjunction with a sims 4 update so I believe the issue must be linked to the EA account and updates being made to my sims game - especially since I attempted the supposed fix of changing the networks and it did not work. This is so frustrating because it implies that every time there's a sims update - of which there are frequent updates - I'll be locked out of my games for days at a time because of the faultiness of the app. I hope that others who are experiencing this issue at least see this and know they're not alone, but my question to EA Help is What are your plans to make sure this stops happening since it's clearly on error on your end?

@GinaFemia This is not an account issue. If the account were the problem, you would receive an error about your login credentials, no account found, etc. When you log into the App, does it immediately give you the network error, or does that happen when you try to launch the game?

I'm unable to login into the app. It tells me I cannot login because the network failed to do its network thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and have changed networks etc. This only seems to happen when there's a new sims update.

@GinaFemia Gotcha, wanted to make sure, can you test this for me?
Go to your task manager -> CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then find your full list of apps (you might only have a couple displayed.
Hit the arrows in the bottom left corner to see them all).
Close the EA App if it isn't already.Find the "EA BACKGROUND SERVICE" app and end task
Then go to the EA App installer folder, and right-click and run as admin.
Let me know if you get the same error. - JustCallMeGeekyG2 years agoSeasoned Novice
Yes, I am still having the same issue. This is a fix that I have tried multiple times in the past with the same result - I'm still receiving the error message and unable to log into the app and access the games. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, changing my password, updating my network, making sure there are no background apps running, updating the app, etc. This does seem to only happen when there are sims 4 updates as the last time this occurred was April 18th, and the time before was March 23, all times where there was a significant sims 4 update. In both cases I was unable to log into the app for 3 days before being able to login on the 4th without any interference on my end.
I do want to thank you for taking the time to respond, I really do appreciate your effort in this. I am hoping there might be a solution that won't take three days to rectify. I have attached the error message for reference.

@GinaFemia Have you happened to reset your password since it started happening to you? It has worked for a few players. Things like this get weird because I see some players that say it worked, others like yourself, go through this long list and nada happens. - JustCallMeGeekyG2 years agoSeasoned Novice
Yes, I just tried resetting my password and am still receiving the same error message.

@GinaFemia I asked about this one, Can you take a look Here
And then Here
I had another CM send me those to see if they worked. I'm working on getting more info about that message since it is so generic. Different steps work for different players. - JustCallMeGeekyG2 years agoSeasoned Novice
Thank you for finding these and sending them my way - unfortunately neither have worked.

@GinaFemia have you by chance reset your modem? Basically, just unplug it for about 5 minutes and establish a new connection.
To make sure, you have run through all of the following?- Change UAC Controls within Windows
- Go to your task manager -> CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then find your full list of apps (you might only have a couple displayed.
- Hit the arrows in the bottom left corner to see them all).
- Close the EA App if it isn't already.
- Find the "EA BACKGROUND SERVICE" app and end task
- Then go to the EA App installer folder
- Right-click and run as admin.
- Let me know if you get the same error.
- Password reset of your EA account
I would like to see if an IP Config reset works as well.
If you have a phone number listed on your EA account, you can sign in that way too, and not the email. If you do not, go to profile.ea.com and just add yours as a log in verification method and try that. Totally random but it has worked. Has there been a new update? I'm currently getting the same "network not doing its network thing" message.

@mcraddock23 This should have been resolved a while ago. If you are still running into the issue and none of the steps outlined on the thread have worked, please post a new thread on the EA app board and title it with the error you get.
As this post is old we have to lock it down so that we can start tracking new reports from players.
Thanks!
