I figured out that the EA Background Service crashes and when you try to Launch the App you'll get the error. The following worked evertime:
- Open Task-Manager -> Details and search for EA Background Services
- Right click and kill the process.
- Open EA App and it launches correctly.
Had to do this every restart of my computer.
I tried to do the App Recovery, but that didn't work (nothing happening except the App exits) when the EA Background Service crashed. So I did the steps above and then the App Recovery and now it starts consistently. For the moment at least.

THIS WORKED 4 ME:
- Open Task-Manager -> Details and search for EA Background Services

I love seeing all the help here. 👍 I know these issues are frustrating and we all want to be heard but the team has been working on this so it is definitely not something that has been pushed to the side. The more data we have like this from steps that work, the easier it is to see what is happening on the backend and with players, and provides a much easier resolution.

Me too have the same problem, tried all methods mentioned in this thread still not working... Fifa 23 my fav game not working since last 3 months

Adding my comment here just to point out that this issue is still happening to this day and preventing people from playing their own games. This really needs to be fixed

- thecharsims2 years agoNew Ace@EA_Shepard This literally doesn't work. I cleared cache, restarted the app and even logged in and out from my pc and the EA app. That app is garbage. It's annoying seeing this thread on top when the solution doesn't even work.
What's been working for me (last I checked the "clear cache" method did nothing on my PC) is to open task manager and end the "EA Background Service" task. Shouldn't matter if you exit the EA App first, killing the background services seems to kill the app too. After relaunching the EA App, my games load properly.

@thecharsims Have you tried these steps? I understand that this is a frustrating situation and we need to be mindful of what we say on the forums. If a post is reported, action can be taken.

- @EA_Shepard Me too - can't see the Me Too button. I'm having the same issue, and using task manager to turn off the EA Background Service resolves the issue
You have been working on it? Because it still exists. I am mind blown by how quickly you address these problems.
