My friend can't accept my friend request. How can I fix this issue?

Is this a friend request in game? Which game are you playing and what platform are you both on?
They might have set their profile on private if they can't receive friend requests. You can find more info here.

In EAFC25, I couldn’t create a group chat with my friends, and they couldn’t accept my friend requests either. We don’t know how or why, but it suddenly got fixed. I'm a PC player and my friend is on PS5
