FC 26 – Core Gameplay Broken by Camera Sync Issues

Hello EA team, This issue has been ongoing for a long time, especially since you introduced RUSH mode into the game. It may sound complicated, but this is the reality: The problem has gotten much worse since last year, due to the major changes to the pitch size, angles, zoom height (now much higher), and the dynamic camera switching in RUSH.

The issue is not only inside RUSH itself, but how the camera settings now affect the general gameplay experience in all other modes like Rivals or Squad Battles.
In other words, the pitch changes, dimensions, and camera focus from RUSH also influence other Ultimate Team matches. The biggest factor: the camera. This is visible in player handling, first touch, passing, turning, and body orientation – which suddenly glitch when attacking near the goal. On top of that, gameplay is clearly different when pressing the camera focus button (PS5: touchpad, Xbox: “view/screen” button).

Just like in RUSH, it switches focus from player to full pitch.
The problem is that this function collides with and damages gameplay in other FUT modes, even when it’s not visually obvious – inputs and outputs change in a very noticeable way. Key observations: Passing and shooting reach: pressing the button alters reach drastically.

Long passes: sometimes too short even with high power, or too long after switching focus. Short passes: can either hit a nearby opponent or suddenly fly 20 meters down the pitch.

Shooting: Looks like long-distance shots (30–40m) even when standing just 15m from goal. Dribbling: The ball stays further from the foot, easier to lose. Defending: Tackling timing breaks due to “long focus” stretching the pitch. Narrow vs. Long focus: Narrow focus: more responsive short passes, tighter dribbling, tackles feel magnetic. Long focus: smoother look, faster flow, but unresponsive, with exaggerated animations.

This creates imbalance: players who use the long focus gain unfair advantages (gliding movement, stronger long shots, faster pass execution).

Camera setting collision (important): The collision is not only between RUSH and FUT modes – it also occurs between different in-game camera settings themselves. Switching between “Tele,” “Rush broadcast,” and others causes zoom/focus conflicts.

These trigger the same gameplay inconsistencies (passing range, shooting, dribbling, tackling). Players can even meet in matches with different active camera focuses, which makes gameplay unequal. How to reproduce: Play one RUSH match on Rush Broadcast camera. Enter any FUT match (Rivals, Squad Battles, etc.). Use the camera focus button (PS5: touchpad, Xbox: “view/screen”). From here, the glitch activates permanently.

Conclusion: The integration of RUSH camera logic into other modes has broken gameplay. It affects balance (passes, shots, dribbling, defending), input/output consistency, and the entire FUT experience. This issue used to be limited to RUSH/Rush Broadcast(and other rush cam's) , but now it extends further due to zoom changes, pitch dynamics, and coding mismatches (e.g., player distance vs. keeper is registered incorrectly). It’s disappointing to see such a core feature left unresolved, and I believe this has already cost EA many players who cannot accept a game that feels this inconsistent. I sincerely hope the development team investigates this as a priority. Best regards, A finance & marketing student with IT background

    I agree, and

The whole problem is,, that when playing any fut game mode, rivals etc. you have to press the same button, you press, when in Rush, to switch the camera focus, like in "whole pitch" or "focus on player" - that button you switch focus with, is "touchpad" on PS5 - the reason it's a problem, is that after pressing it once, your whole gameplay output, and responsiveness is fixed, the ball is suddenly glued to your feet, your passing is tighter, and ur shooting is better

if u switch focus again to the "broad/long one" the gameplay camera will behave like you are playing on a 500m long pitch, and not the actual pitch size you play, overall affects all mechanics- its not only rush camera, but mainly a camera focus preset, that is broken- you should only have to switch the focus in Pro clubs or rush, but u have to do it in Rivals, to fix the whole gameplay output experience
and again, its complex, like u said

    Addition:

For example, the "Be a Keeper" section is not only tied to Pro Clubs mode — it also affects your situation in Rivals when you’re standing in front of the keeper and about to shoot.

It has an internally synchronized code and effect.

When you finish in front of the keeper, it’s actually the keeper setting that decides the quality of your shot.

If it’s set to Tele Broadcast, and you also play on Tele Broadcast in Rivals and in your single-player settings, then you get the authentic experience during finishing in front of goal, based on your chosen setting.

Be a Keeper setting has to be = Tele Broadcast(if thats your main setting) → your shot behaves as if you’re playing in Tele Broadcast (consistent with your overall setup for seeing the pitch).

But if your Be a Keeper is left on Pro (which is the default), then the synchronization and output will act as if you’re using the Pro Club camera in that exact finishing situation.

This makes the shot more manual, because the Pro camera captures from completely different angles — it positions the camera right behind the player, as if you’re literally that player in Pro Clubs.

All of these settings should never interfere with Rivals input/output in the first place.

That’s why you need to keep every camera setting identical, for example:
    Tele Broadcast
    Tele Broadcast
    Tele Broadcast
    Tele Broadcast
Tele Broadcast across the entire settings window - That's an example

For someone who plays CO-UP: - repeat the process of updating all other camera department settings ( That is the essential message)

    Resolutuon for, the Rush, mis-sync

You need to manually fix the camera focus — with the Touchpad button on PS5, or the “two screens” button (top left) on Xbox.

Many players report the issue only after playing Rush, which suggests the game mis-syncs and assumes you’re still on a Rush pitch after exiting.

In Rush there are two focus settings: Wide zoom – where you track all players on the field.

Player focus – where the camera locks more tightly on you as the individual player -  your movement, direction, and shooting and aiming.

This is the most responsive one. You can toggle this in Rush, Clubs, Squad Battles, and all other modes. But in Rush the change is only visual — the underlying responsiveness remains affected across modes.

This is a temporary and very diffifult solution, but I expect EA to fix this mess before it is too late and spoils yet another year of the FIFA/FC series.

Problem 1 – Camera focus / responsiveness: It is always difficult and time-consuming to get right, because it is not a visual change.

You have to keep toggling the touchpad button until you notice the difference in shot animations, e.g. a finesse shot from the left side just outside the box.

Problem 2 – All camera settings must be identical: We should never be forced to manually align every single camera setting, since the game itself claims these settings only apply to other modes.

In reality, they interfere with input and output across all modes.

Problem 3 – Practice Arena preset camera:

The default preset in the Practice Arena is set to CO-OP, and this directly influences responsiveness, passing, animations, and defending. The synchronization works so that the greater the distance between camera angle and player, the more unresponsive the gameplay becomes, affecting aiming and tackling.
The closer the angle, the better (as seen with Tele and Tele Broadcast). This confirms my analysis: in earlier FIFA titles, the default Practice Arena camera was “PRO” (e.g., Ronaldinho in the favelas in the “learn to play” lobby).

Back then — up until FIFA 21 — gameplay was very unresponsive and finishing unstable in front of goal, because of the preset camera angle inside the "learn to play mode", which nobody could explain.

EA must ensure that this “learn to play” default camera does not affect the Ultimate Team experience. I fix it manually at startup by switching the arena camera to Tele Broadcast, which is my chosen view. EA MUST fix all of these problems before more players quit the game due to unstable technical errors and synchronization issues.

From my perspective, based on logic, technical knowledge, and what I’ve observed:

    Problem 1 (Camera focus/responsiveness):
This makes sense. The camera focus button was designed for Rush/Clubs, but it actually affects input/output in FUT. When a gameplay element changes responsiveness without a visible indicator, that’s a classic “hidden variable” error → it can explain inconsistency in passing, shooting, and tackling.

Problem 2 (Uniform settings across modes): This is rational. When “Be a Keeper” or other camera departments influence Rivals, even though EA claims they only apply to specific modes, it means there is code overlap. Forcing identical settings is a logical way to remove conflicts.

Problem 3 (Practice Arena preset): Also plausible. The default camera in the Arena (CO-OP, or earlier PRO) can act as a global baseline that loads into other modes. If the baseline is set too far away (Co-op), it will inevitably create “desync” in animation timing, passing range, and shooting feel.

    Overall assessment:

What I describe is not unlikely– it’s a systematic analysis of gameplay inconsistency caused by camera parameters, focus logic, and preset inheritance.

Other players (as shown in forum discussions across, Twitch, Facebook and Forum) report the same.

This doesn’t mean everything is proven with data YET, but my points are coherent, technically plausible, and consistent with known behavior in earlier FIFA titles (e.g., unresponsive PRO arena in FIFA 19–21). which also make problem #3  make sense.

I’ve identified three factors that can explain the glitches being experienced. Some players might not notice these issues because they are subtle and not as visually obvious as a “graphic bug,” but that doesn’t take away from their impact on gameplay. - especially after entering Rush, or making sure to set up the camera settings completely identical, such as "tele broadcast" all the way down the cam options - thats where it becomes mroe noticable, and after playing Rush / testing the camera focus change via the toggling of the touchpad button
