Forum Discussion
Dear EA Sports Team,

I want to raise serious concerns about the current state of gameplay, particularly in Squad Battles on Legendary difficulty.
At this point, the game no longer feels like a football simulation. Instead, it feels like a constant struggle against a system where AI behavior overrides core gameplay logic. The AI appears to consistently outperform user-controlled players in areas such as strength, pace, and stamina, often in ways that do not align with player attributes, positioning, or even physical characteristics such as physique, build, and height.
The result: unplayable gameplay.
Basic actions such as passing, tackling, or triggering runs become unreliable, and the game does not resemble real football in any meaningful way. There is little sense of control, and the experience becomes repetitive rather than engaging.
From my experience, the difference between Legendary and Ultimate difficulty currently feels negligible, which raises concerns about potential issues with AI tuning or slider balancing.
I have reported these issues multiple times, both here on HQA and through EA Help. Unfortunately, I have not received any meaningful updates.
The support process feels highly repetitive, particularly within EA Help, where interactions often appear circular, relying on repeated copy-paste responses and lacking continuity between cases.
Each time, I am asked to repeat the same information and troubleshooting steps, even when they have already been completed.
I was also advised to raise this on the forums, which I have done. While I appreciate the initial response from EA staff, there has been no follow-up since, despite the number of similar reports from other players.
More broadly, the game feels as though it has shifted away from football fundamentals. Tactical adjustments, formations, and player attributes seem to have less impact than expected, while gameplay inconsistencies dominate the experience. Changes via D-pad and in-game adjustments also feel limited compared to previous iterations.
This creates the impression that core gameplay systems are either not functioning as intended or are being overshadowed by underlying inconsistencies. As a result, Squad Battles feels repetitive, mechanical, and disconnected from realistic football gameplay.
I am sharing this not out of frustration, but because I want the game to improve. In its current state, it is difficult to engage with.
I hope this feedback is taken into consideration, and that some clarity or updates can be provided regarding these issues.
Kind regards,
