Legacy Account Age Verification Failure

I’ve been extremely frustrated and disappointed since last Thursday, when the new age verification brazilian law was implemented in SWTOR. From that moment on, I have been unable to access the game — not because I’m underage (I’m 31 years old), but because the verification process appears to be failing for older accounts like mine.

My account is very old and was originally linked to an EA/EA Games account that no longer exists, and now the system simply doesn’t verify my age or allow me to proceed. As a result, I was instructed to contact support by email, but the only response I received was that this can only be resolved by telephone support.

The problem is: I’m Brazilian, I don’t speak English, and I have no practical way to call international phone numbers — both because of the language barrier and because I cannot afford the cost of this type of call. Being forced into phone support in another language, for an issue caused by your account verification system, feels completely unfair.

What makes this even worse is that I recently returned to the game and paid for a subscription. Now I’m locked out of a service I’m actively paying for, and I’m being bounced from one channel to another with delays and no real solution. This is extremely disrespectful to the customer and a very poor experience.

I’m asking for a reasonable resolution through an accessible support channel (email or chat), including a way to complete age verification despite the legacy account issue. If that is not possible, then I would like compensation for the lost subscription time and/or a refund for the period I cannot access the game.

Please escalate this issue and provide a solution that does not require an international phone call in English.

  • If the linked EA account doesnt exist then you need to restore that account to be able to purchase

You can try to do this if the email hasn't been used on another account by attempting a password reset per this guide
(note the comment about swtor accounts although if you can restore that deleted ea account it should be recoverable)

To protect your account information, only you can recover your account. It’s not something we can do for you.If you’re restoring a deleted account and haven’t created a new EA Account with the same email address as your deleted account, you may be able to restore your deleted account through a password resetIf you’ve created a new EA Account with the same email, you’ll need to change the email address on the new account first in order to reset the password for the deleted one.

I’m unable to make a phone call to receive support, and I already sent an email to the address you recommended, but they told me that support can only be provided via phone.

Am I really going to lose my SWTOR account because of this? I have no way to make that call — I’m Brazilian, I speak Portuguese, and I don’t speak English. I simply cannot call.

    Hey 66vq1lmm2y6b

Thanks for taking the time to explain the situation. While we encourage you to call us through our phone lines for more immediate support, feel free to email the Star Wars: The Old Republic support team at support@swtor.com instead.

You'll want to contact support to reactivate that old EA account and change the email associated with it to one you have access to. Let us know how it goes, thanks!
