The Sims 3 EA APP Mac User Issue - Sims 3 Store Content will not Download

I have been having issues with the EA App since Mac users had to update to the new app. I cannot download any store content to my Sims 3 Launcher. It keeps popping up with 'There was an error Downloading Content {0}'. I have talked to the EA support team and they don't know why my game is doing this and told me to come to the forums. Is there a solution to this? I miss playing my game with all the things that I purchased. I have included an image.

  • @nessatay2223 (and everyone else in this thread)  I've flagged this issue to EA but don't know of anything else to suggest at the moment.  It's clearly not universal, which probably makes the issue more difficult to resolve.  Hopefully there will be some news soon.

@DaltonKCT  Thanks for the report ID.  The inability to login is sometimes due to a special character in the username, email address, or password.  Even if it works everywhere else, Sims 3 might not be able to handle it.  And the [your email].bin file is created only when you successfully sign in.  So if you haven't been able to on this computer, or you deleted this file (or a folder it's in) since the last time you signed in, you wouldn't see a new copy of the file.

The username on the old Sims 3 site can't be changed, not even by support, and it definitely doesn't update when someone changes their EA username.

There’s no special characters in my passwords I made sure. It’s just 7 letters and 2 numbers. 1 letter being uppercase. Even before changing it, my password didn’t have any special characters. No special characters in my email either except the @ symbol and .com

  • Hi, can someone please advise how to properly download and install Riverview? I play TS3 with the EA App, however, every time I try to download it from TS3 store I get a blank error message, please advise?

@Nanabrigo  Please try using a different browser.  Firefox works well for me most of the time.

And to make sure, are you already signed into the Store site when you try to download Riverview?  I know there are some direct download links floating around, but they probably wouldn't work without the user being signed in.

@Nanabrigo  I've merged your post with the master thread for this error in macOS.  In case the old fix helps, you can try this:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Sims-3-64-bit-problems-installing-store-custom-content/m-p/9665254#error0

Otherwise, please try again to download the world and immediately create an EA App error report:

    https://help.ea.com/en/help/ea/ea-app/run-ea-error-report/

    Post the report ID here.

This site is closing, going read-only for a little while before disappearing entirely.  But the content is migrating to the new EA forums, so your information will still be available to anyone investigating this issue.
