Filter, Sorting, and UI... oh my

I have never ever posted to a forum before, but my passion for The Sims runs deep. I’ve been playing since the very beginning of the franchise, and it has felt like a good friend — not just to me, but to a lot of other people too. Thank you to all of the people who have ever worked on this team! I appreciate all of your hard work and creativity that has filled my life for 25 years.

Since The Sims 4 launched (2014, I think?), I’ve spent so many hours with this game. (My playtime tracker hasn’t budged in years, but trust me, I’ve definitely been playing.) Over time, I’ve financially invested and own every release. While I’m super grateful for how much content there is, it’s made navigating the game a lot harder. Menus, sorting, the UI, gameplay — just overall accessibility — it’s all gotten really overwhelming. I know it’s a good problem to have, but it’s still a real issue that I think deserves some attention.

Honestly, I feel like the filter and sort options in the game are overdue for an update. Build/Buy mode and CAS have gotten so cluttered — even simple interactions between Sims are getting more time-consuming just because of how much you have to sort through. Again, it’s a good problem, but it’s seriously starting to impact my time in-game.

As someone who’s mentally already pre-ordered every future release, it gives me a little bit of pause. Adding more content is awesome, but I really wish the team would start thinking more about the long-time and all around player experience and accessibility too. It would make a huge difference if we could have more control over columns and rows, and if there were easier ways to expand or minimize sections. It would make finding what you need or want to do/wear way faster and more organized — and way more fun to create a custom experience player-to-player.

I am a lazy purist. I don't love playing with CC/Mods because they have to be babysat. And, to me, they aren’t TS4. I don’t know how to explain that more clearly. I know they exist, but they aren’t for me.

The part that gets me is that mods like "Expandable BuildBuy Catalog" and "More Columns in CAS" have existed for years. They are quality-of-life changes that everyone could enjoy.

I don't understand why EAxis can't reach out to the creators of those mods and say "Hey, we'd love to add this into the game, so let's come to some agreement." Just credit the creators and add the things to the game. It's not like they haven't added features in packs that haven't existed and still exist (in arguably better form) to the game already - Lovestruck's dating app already exists as a mod and (was it HSY that added it) gender and attraction and relationships already existed in that other mod.

Give us some quality-of-life stuff and stop just bloating the game.

25-year anniversary and the in-game merchandise didn't even have good textures on them. It's all just disappointing.
