I'd love a vampire hunter option! I pretend one of my sims is one and why he learns vampire lore to understand his prey better :D
I think the option to toggle more features is great (or would be great) for people. Some people do literally buy packs for just the CAS and/or Build/Buy (mind others buy the packs just for the features too), and more packs bought means more packs can me made (at least in theory).
So let people make a niche game for themselves if they want to. I play a niche game and have certain things toggled on and off, and might toggle more on and off if I had the option. I might even buy more packs if I knew I could control what features would be on/off. But, I guess, I am by nature a modder, I mod for DAO, some Sims 3 and some Sims 4 (until my computer died I didn't re-download the Sims 3/4 modding tools yet).
At this time I am simply not buying packs that have things I don't want in my game, as I am more pack picky in Sims 4 anyways. But I can see the frustration, I almost bought Get Famous just for the CAS and Build/Buy and I know I can turn off fame, but I am not sure if I want reputation, since they seem tied together anyways (aka I'd want complete removal of "Public Image" from Simology panel). But the Get Famous CAS and Build/Buy totally matches my gameplay style.
