Sims 4 will continuously load

Spec: M1 Mac, 8GB ram 500GB drive.

Whenever I click "Play" on Origin, it will load up Sims 4, but I will forever be in the loading screen and never get to the main menu. The music starts playing and the plumbob spins, but thats as far as I get.

I've tried to delete Origin, and Sims 4, and all its files. However when I redownload Origin, it automatically logs me in.

I absolutely read what you posted but don't see where you stated you tried a clean Sims 4 folder, you simply said that you tried to delete Origin and Sims 4 files without going into any further detail. You haven't provided full specs of your Mac, nor which version of macOS you are running.

More info is needed on what exactly you have successfully deleted, what files you weren't able to delete, and proper Mac specs before I can help you further.

    Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.1

I've gone into Document folder, and moved/deleted EA folder completely.

I've gone into Applications and deleted origin, and sims 4

I've gone into Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Origin and deleted the folder completely

Thanks. What kind of Mac do you have - MacBook Air? MacBook Pro? iMac? All these models have shipped with the M1 chip at some point. They have also never come with a 500Gb hard drive, the closest being 512Gb. Are you referring to an external drive?

Deleting the Origin app and Sims 4 app in the Applications folder is not successfully uninstalling them. To uninstall the game you must right click on the game in your Origin games library and select Uninstall. To properly uninstall Origin you must manually reset it as well as trashing the app - https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/

Please follow those instructions above to properly uninstall Origin and the game, empty the trash, restart your Mac, make sure there is no "The Sims 4 folder" in the Documents > Electronic Arts folder then launch the game. You should be prompted to allow Origin and the game access to various locations on your Mac, make sure you allow them all.

How did you factory restore your Mac? I'm asking because there can often be confusion over what this entails and unless the machine was completely erased and reformatted, there is the risk of residual files still being leftover. If you could explain how you did this it would help 🙂
