game won't open

hi everybody,

I cannot open the game after the newest update (posting this on the twentysixth of march 2026), I've deleted all of my mods (and had no cc) before trying to start the game but before the latest update that was supposed to fix the game my game did start. Only after the latest update do I get a blueish black screen with only my cursor visible, does anyone know how to fix this? I've had the base game since release and I have all the dlc (except marketplace add ons) if that mathers at all.

    So I did try again and the game does show the EA, maxis and sims 4 loading screens, but after the loading screen before you're supposed to be able to choose a save file to play the screen turns into the black screen w only the cursor

    EsmesSugarbowl​  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

    If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
